I have been running for over a year now and plan to continue for the pregnancy (doc is fine with it). Anyone else a runner?

I ran Monday and yesterday. I know I am not far along but I swear my stomach feels jiggly when I run. It's hard to rum because I am exhausted but so far afterwards I have been feeling 100% better.

I run but I think I'm probably going to reduce the amount and/or substitute in elliptical. Definitely hoping to keep in shape though :)

How many miles do you run? I am at 4 but I think I will try to stay around a 5k distance while pregnant. I am definitely thinking I will be slowing way down.

I am an avid runner and marathoner. I was scheduled to run 3 halfs and a full marathon this year, along with countless other races. I (stupidly) pre-registered even though we were TTC. :dohh:

But, I haven't run since before I got my :bfp: I'm too frightened having mc'd in the past. I also figure that I wouldn't like it very much if someone was holding me and running. LOL It's a personal preference, mostly out of fear form our past, but I'm giving up running for now. I have SUCH an urge to run, and will begin to take long fast walks once I'm safely in the second tri. But I miss it so badly.

Hey! I am a runner. My doctor is fine with me continuing. Although before I got my BFP I would run between 3-7, I am now doing 2 miles three days a week. On the other days I am going on the elliptical or bike. It makes me feel good. I also stop and walk occasionally on my run especially during the hills. Goodluck, don't overdo it but keep up the exercise!

I'm a runner too, but like HoldOn2Hope, I haven't run since I got my bfp. I had a miscarriage with a pregnancy earlier this year when I did continue to run. I'm not suggesting that this had anything to do with the m/c, but I decided with this one that I didn't want to take any risks, so sadly I have stopped. I'm hoping that I will be able to get back to it once I've had the baby.

Me, Me! DH and I are both huge runners, actually doing our second marathon in November. We currently run 3.5 miles 5-6 mornings a week, and then our "long" training runs twice a month. I'm only 4 weeks, but I'm assuming Dr (at my 8 week appt) will encourage me to keep up with the physical activity.....I hope I get the GO to do the Marathon, then will definitely slow down A LOT after that.

TX Mom2Be: My doctor said I am safe to continue doing what my body is already use to but I cannot add on. You may want to really check with your doctor on starting a training program. I wanted to run the Houston Half in January with my running buddies but that is definitely out of the question now. Oh well, there is always next year.

I used to HAT running but decided to take it on about 7 or 8 months ago. At first it was hard, now I love running. I was running even after I got my BFP and I had planned on continuing to run. But then m/s got the best of me and I had to stop. I don't even feel good enough to go to the gym to do anything. As soon as I feel better though I am going to start slowly running again.

I have been very nervous of running since getting my BFP (previous miscarriages make you nervous of everything! :dohh:) I went and spoke to head of the gym at camp today and he gave me some information about phys during pregnancy. At the moment I'm sticking to 30 mins on treadmill/elliptical without letting my heartrate go over 140bpm. I felt comfortable doing it and wasnt left short of breath etc

I too run, and have been running every day, about 3 miles. But the past 2 days I have been crampy so I have been keeping it easy. I am going to go tonight with my DH though and I am excited!! I continue running, and exercising all through my pregnancies, it feels great!!!

I'm going to hold off on any training and just continue with my daily runs until my appointment.

Do you live in Houston?

I am a runner! Errr...or used to be before this morning sickness got the best of me. Now the most running I do is to the toilet! I don't know what I will do once I feel better. I will probably be completely out of shape by then so it might not be the best idea to start running again. But I will definetly go for long walks and chase around my 3 year old.

On a side note....does anybody run while they are nursing? I tried to do this with my first but it made my milk practically dry up! Just wonderng if anybody had any suggestions...

A lady I work with is another avid runner and she ran while breastfeeding. I'd ask her but I think that might give my secret away...lol

I also teach a noncontact cardio kickboxing class and when the clas starts to groan about something I want to scream at them, "If I can do it pregnant and exhausted, then you can definitely do it." But alas, I cannot. Maybe in a few more weeks...

Tex: I live about 4 hours from Houston, still in Texas though. Glad you are waiting on starting a program.
