Driving me bonkers!
Just cannot stop eating sugar!

Today I've eaten three apples, a banana, a nectarine, a sweet red pepper, some chocolate an ice lolly and a handful of sweets :dohh:

I was so hoping to lose a few lbs while bfing this time, but its so not happening!! :dohh:

Anyone got any tips or magic foods to help beat this crazy addiction? :haha:

I'm sorry I don't have any tips but I need some too!!!! I keep driving out to get sugary snacks!!

Stalking ;) x

I chew sugarless gum (buy it by the case at Costco!!) and eat jello for dessert.

Indulge! They will go away once your hormones stabilize ie. when LO eats less milk.

Same with hunger - I was starving in the beginning too, but it all levels off and you lose weight quickly, especially once LO starts to eat solids. I weight 10 lb less now than before pregnancy so go ahead and eat that ice-cream and chocolate - it's the only time in life you'll get a chance to be a pig and lose weight :)

I have not really craved sugar at all since having Flynn. I ate massive amounts of it just before I had him, craved it like crazy, but all cravings have just disappeared!

Can you remove all chocolate & sweets from the house?

I have put on 12 lbs since leaving hospital and I am bf twins !!! Arrrrgggh!

No tips, but I'm the same. I'm trying to stick to fruit and more natural sugars like honey and molasses, but ultimately it is all the same. Hope the craving goes away soon!

Be proactive by filling up on high protein foods. When you're full on high protein foods, your sugar cravings decrease. Also cut out any white grains and cut back on any high starch foods. Both are one step away from sugar and wreak havoc on your blood sugar levels creating highs and lows, contributing to sugar addiction.

Edit: Also, don't fear the fat! Saturated fat is actually good for you and the higher calories keep you satisfied longer if within the context of whole, low or non processed foods.

Hey darling, I find that if I combine a bit of protein w/ the fruit I'm feeling better. Mind you, I have a serious sweet tooth :O
So I have a fruit and a cup of yogurt (real yogurt/ no sugar) and walnuts. Stops the cravings.

If I have sweets then I want more, and in the end I get so many highs and lows in my blood sugar I turn into a bitch.

I am trying to do the same I crave chocolate like crazy and I never was a chocolate lover.

I have tried eating more protein and it is not helping. :(

I have been trying to cook with coconut oil and I indulge in frozen yogurt and peanut butter a few times a week. So I guess my fat intake is more, although the coconut oil is good fat. I find if I don't eat fat I don't produce enough milk.

Me too! Craved like crazy in pregnancy and it continues now! Ice cream, chocolate, liorice are my worst cravings.

I have gone cold turkey on the chocolate. It was hard at the start of the week but I am over it now. Sugar on the other hand is awful. I have made 1/4 sugar lactation cookies so that I get a bit of sugar....

No advice Harley is 11 months now and I still eat like a pig. Cake is my downfall :( can't help myself. I try to eat as much fruit and veg as I can but it doesn't give me that same satisfaction. Especially when all the kids are in bed and I can relax with a cuppa and something tasty.

Then I wonder why non of my pre preg clothes fit lol. Too lazy to do anything about it though. x

Have you tried chia seeds? If you take like a spoonful they are supposed to make you feel fuller, so maybe you won't crave sweet things, because you are full?
