Had a call from my docs today saying i need to pick up some tablets for folic and iron deficiency as they have my bloods back. Just wondered if anyone who has been told to take them at around the 30 week stage has found it increases their energy levels?

Recently i just want to sleep all the time, i really cant be bothered to do anything. I want to nest n clean, lol! Hoping these will help increase my energy levels.

I was prescribed iron tablets for anaemia. To be honest I've only been taking them for a little while not even a week yet but I don't feel any different.. If anything I feel even more tired I've found myself going to bed for an hour or so on more than one occasion. One thing I can say about them is that they give me really bad wind!! And they turned my poo black (sorry if TMI ) But apparently that's normal lol. But like I said I haven't really been on them long enough to feel any different .. Sorry I couldn't be more help lol :flower:

i had a vitamin b12 deficency plus anaemia so i was getting injections for b12 and they gave me a boost. im stil havng to take iron tablets as im stil very low. i was really tired last week but a lot better this week. i have been on these for about 8 weeks x

hey hun, i had to take iron tablets becuase my iron levels were low. i was advised by doc to take 1 tablet twice a day, saw the midwife she said my levels werent even that low and to take 1 every other day. i have been doing what my midwife told me and did feel a difference. prob after about a couple of weeks. i would advise taking the tablets after eating as they used to make me sick and have a bit of an upset tummy, so now i make sure i take them after dinner and before i go to bed xx

hey just had a call from my doc aswel saying my iron levels were low in blood tests and that they have prescribed me more iron tablets, however I was on iron b4 and it made me constipated and quite nauseous, so I have just been to the chemist and got Spatone, its for low irn levels and my mums friend recommended it to me because she didnt take very well to the tablets and she said it helped during and after pregnancy , esp after giving birth cos she lost alot of blood!! im starting to take it tonite.xx

My doctor started by telling me I must have been tired recently because my iron levels were low. TBH I've been tired throughout the entire pregnancy. I've been on iron tablets for about 6 weeks now and I haven't noticed a difference at all

been on iron tablets since 28 weeks with no improvement..so Im now booked in for an iron infusion on friday

I was prescribed iron tablets just over a week ago....1 tablet twice a day but they dont seem to have done much yet. Had an appointment with midwife today though and she has upped my dosage to 3 a day. partly because my levels are quite low and partly because i dont want this to ruin my chances of having a home birth  I refuse to go to hospital!!! xx
