Posted this in 1st tri, but realised its probs best here

I have been given a prescription for 75mg dispersable aspirin. I have had 2 early miscarriages 4-5wks... and a preterm baby. Is anybody else on it and why? x

I am on it, I was not prescribed it, but decided to take it myself. Its good for thinning the blood, ensuring enough nutrients can get to the baby- its also good for preventing pre eclampsia, and at a dose of 75mg its perfectly safe for both you and baby. The reason I decided to start taking it is because I had a mmc last year and felt that maybe my blood was a little too thick. I was getting heart palpitations and they stopped when I started the asprin. :hugs:

Thanku. Are these dispersible or not that ur on? X

I am on 75mg dispersible aspirin and I too self medicated. I have blood clotting problems in my family and after a loss at 5-6 weeks I wondered if this could have been the cause.

Such a low dose is supposed to only be beneficial!

We have 81mg here, so I'm on that along with Folgard (B vitamin). Autoimmune/ clotting is one of the possible causes for my daughters death, so we are just doing it as a precaution as there is now way to get a certain answer (tests have been normal, but sometimes they don't show up).

I'm on 100mg, self-medicated. I'm also on Clexane due to recent DVTs and PEs, and considering I had my first ever miscarriage 6 weeks ago after 3 healthy pregnancies I'm doing everything I can to hold onto this one.

I'm on 75mg aspirin, my son was born sleeping at 36 weeks, no know cause but their was sudden ischeamic changes in the placenta, they are hoping the aspirin will ensure the blood keeps flowing through the placenta as it 'thins blood' and keep oxygen going to the baby. :hugs:

I was advised by my ob to start 75mg of aspirin as soon as I got a bfp. It is to increase the blood flow to the placenta. Fx'ed we get to bring our babies home this time xx
