LO is about 11 weeks old or so and has been having a lot of problems with gas lately...her formula has been the same since she was about 4 weeks or so but just these past two nights shes has horrible and painful gas  Shes also been super fussy, not doing her naps, and Im wondering if maybe her formula is starting to bother her...does that happen? Shes on the Similac Sensitive now (orange bottle) was on Enfamil before and that DEF didnt work, and we tried Similac Sensitive for Spit Up (light green bottle) to help her silent reflux but some how it made it worse and she actually puked up stuff unlike before....Im wondering if maybe we should ask the Dr if we should try to Similac Soy..

just wondering if anyone else is on the Soy or switched to it and what were LOs problems before and has it helped them, also how long did it take to work and did it cause new problems even though it fixed the old ones?

Thats a lot of changing for a little tummy. Can you try a different bottle before changing again? I would try Dr Browns bottles.... they worked for our gas and I have never looked back.

well those changes have been weeks and weeks apart..the last change was just for 1 day at like 4 weeks to the sensitive and I realized in two bottles that it wasnt working so I changed her back right away...she has two diff bottles we use and the playtex ventaire and the tomme tippee natural ones and either bottle she has the problems..I'll ask the Dr about a possible changing of bottles too

We were allergic to the regular formula. My son would throw up tons and it usually smelled like curdled milk and had snot mixed in. He also had frequent loose stools. It took about a week for the milk to get out of his system. He was like a different baby. Before he was stiff and would never sleep. After he was calm and would sleep for days. Hope you find something that helps.

I had my baby on similac advanced since birth... at about 5 weeks i noticed something was up.... so around 6 weeks when i couldnt bare anymore screaming sessions the doctor said to try the similac sensitive in the orange can... tried it for a couple days and went straight to soy... I was a soy formula baby also. My aunt has been a maternity and NICU nurse for YEARSSSS and she said he might also have to be on soy since i had a reaction to regular formula. and he is now 16.5 weeks and have no problems. what kind of bottles are you using?

oops just saw you use the playtex ventaire and tommee tippee... i use the playtex ones... i tried the tommy tippee but it just ran out of his mouth and he spit up with those... i have no problems with the ventaire... when i switched him to soy i used the dr.browns bottles to help with the belly issues... he was constipated for about a week so i was giving him .5oz water with .5oz prune to help and then after that he was fine and i put him back on ventaire cus he spit up soooo much on dr.browns but it helped with the gas while his belly got used to the switch but now i just stick to ventaire.

a few people on another site said we might have to try a hypoallergenic formula like Nutrimegen or whatever its called or the Alimentum stuff or something...so I'll prolly just take her to the Dr tomm and see what they say..they may give us samples of a few diff ones to see..I just almost hope that it is her formula and we can figure it out so atleast we know there is a reason for her being gassy and her over fussiness lately..

We had our oldest on similac soy/isomil. She had a cows milk allergy and had really bad gas, loose green poops, and what just plain miserable. It made a huge difference in her.

When we found out our youngest had a cows milk allergy too we put her straight on the soy formula but 50% of babies allergic to cows milk are also allergic to soy.she had a bad reaction to it and we had to put her on nutramigen. It has made her a new baby. Expensive and stinky but fantastic stuff.
