Anyone else reached 10+ cycles and would like to chat about their journey and support each other?

Ttc#2, and first happened quickly so it's been a shock to the system this time round. I'm on my 11th cycle now (although 10th month as I've had 26-28 day cycles) and approaching the year marker of seeing a doctor if it doesn't happen which is a bit scary. Tried to speak to a friend who has just begun TTC and she says I should stop worrying about dates and just get at it like bunnies. :dohh: She means well but she has no idea that we've tried so many ways over the past 11 cycles - this has prompted me to find ladies in the same boat.

Love to chat to some other mid term TTCers if you're out there? :hugs:

We've been ttc #1 since April 2014, had a m/c at 4w in May 2015 but am now 5w5d pregnant. I actually thought it wasn't going to happen. My sister falls straight away and so does my SIL, so I really thought there was something wrong with me. I decided to give accupuncture a go back in January and we conceived 6 weeks after my first treatment. For the first time I had no mid-cycle spotting and my first and only period after starting the treatment lasted only 4 days instead of 6, with no brown spotting before or after. Whether it did actually make the difference for me in conceiving, I don't know but it is the only thing I changed and the visible improvements during my cycle make me think that it did make a difference. Might be worth considering if you haven't already? I try not to tell people we are trying to avoid being asked about it all the time, it actually makes me feel like we're letting other people down...even my mum knowing is bad enough lol! If she had her way I would have been fully analysed by now for not conceiving soon enough. I didn't even tell her about the accupuncture. I have my fingers crossed you get your little surprise soon! :flower:

We have been TTC #1 since December 2013...
I've been to a specialist, had all the blood work, SA test, HSG test and everything came back normal.
I have just come to the point now that if it happens it happens.. I can't stress out over it anymore... it is driving me bonkers

I'm currently 1 day late for AF on cycle #13, TTC #1. My cycles average 35 days, but 3 of my cycles since we started TTC, including this one, ended up being super long. I O'd on CD42 instead of CD22. I've got 3 extremely faint lines on ICs from last night and today, so now I'm waiting to do a FMU test tomorrow morning with a proper FRER.

Orglethorp: fingers crossed for you! Pippylu, congrats to you!

I find myself in the same boat...we've been TTC since October 2014 so about 15 cycles give or take. I got pregnant right away in December 2014 but had a m/c -chemical at 5 weeks. Then after 9 long months of devastating failure, we got pregnant again this September and that resulted in an ectopic which I had to terminate just before 6 weeks with methotrexate.

We had to wait two full cycles before trying again, and then I had umbilical hernia surgery and broke my foot in December so we really just started TTC again in January. I am currently 10dpo, and am waiting for the end of TWW. I actually thought I didn't ovulate because my chart is hideous this cycle but my acupuncturist had me do a progesterone draw at what we thought was 7dpo based on my signs and the opk and it came back as 12.7, which definitely confirms ovulation and very normal progesterone levels. So I think I just have a broken thermometer (I guess it is over a year old now!).

I never thought it would take me this long, or that I would have to go through two losses...but here we are :( At least I know I can fall pregnant, and my husbands boys can swim. I'm trying to take the time line off myself as it does help with the stress. The acupuncture helps too...I've been doing it for about six weeks now and am going weekly. He tells me that it will take a minimum of 3 months to improve egg/follicle health, because it takes that long to develop them. However, it can begin to level out your hormones and improve other functions earlier than that. I will just have to wait and see...

It will be nice to chat with other ladies who know what it means to wait....and wait....and wait...go to another baby shower...wait some more...It's like "always a bridesmaid, but never the bride"--ONLY WAY WORSE!

Hi ladies! Thanks for your replies.

Pippilu congratulations and thanks for the hope. I've read good things about acupuncture and conceiving. Does it hurt? It kind of scares me as I really hate needles. Do you have any acupuncture or go to a fertility specialist? Wishing a happy and healthy 9 months.

Shedevil18, so long trying and everything is OK - I really really hope it happens for you soon xx

Oglethorp any update? Hope this is it for you!!

Ltweety I'm so sorry you've gone through 2 losses. I also take hope that as I've already had a baby at least we can get pregnant together. I love the analogy of never the bride ... is this your first? And acupuncture too...its really nteresting...i hope it helps.

Wantingagirl I see you also have an Erin (my dd is called Erin!). Beautiful name. I'm sorry for complaining about 11 cycles when some of you have been ttc for 2 years. I can't imagine doubling this time. Did you fall pregnant with your other children ok? I'm so sorry for your losses, and can see its not been long :( what is asherman's syndrome?

Wishing you all baby dust and good luck. Its nice to speak to other ladies on their ttc journeys and be able to discuss these things xxx

Thanks dreamer! Honestly, it doesn't hurt and I found it quite relaxing. I went on my own without consulting a specialist. It was my last resort before seeing a fertility specialist. The accpuncturist asked me lots of questions about my cycle and ttc and decided on a treatment plan from there. It takes about 30-40 minutes all up each visit and I always feel very relaxed afterwards, like you do after a massage. Definitely worth considering!

I'm one cycle 9 at the moment but don't have much hope for this month. We're also TTC #2. DS took just under 3 years to concieve and only was because of Vitex. I was having anovulatory cycles and when I did ovulate, I would fall pregnant but always mc'd. Going to pick up some Vitex this week hopefully (if I can find some) because my lp is only 8 days. It's really hard seeing women on their 2nd or 3rd, even first cycle get a BFP. I just wish it was as easy as they said it was in school  My husbands cousin is pregnant now after sleeping with 3 different guys (all unprotected) and is talking about whether she will keep it or not. We know she will but she is still smoking weed and drinking and I just want to throttle her. Why do people like that get little miracles yet us ladies who truly want children, find it so hard?! Grrr, it really rustles my jimmies.

After 4 positives, my BBT plummeted this morning and AF showed up. I just happened to have an ob/gyn appointment already scheduled for today (to get/discuss some test results), and she confirmed what I suspected - chemical. So on one hand, yay! We conceived! We can do this! On the other hand, it didn't stick.

All my numbers are great, but OH has low motility (but good numbers). We're being referred to the fertility clinic now.

Oh honey :hugs: I'm so sorry to hear this xxx I hope the FS can help this along and that you can get that sticky BFP soon xxx

I am currently 1 day late for AF and the past few days I have been getting faint positives on internet cheapies so I have my fingers crossed :)
I am going to get a few good tests today after work

Thank you hunni - anytime when you want a baby is tooooo long.

Erin is such a beautiful name good taste :haha:

My son took 14 months, Olivia was 22 months 14-15 months can't remember then I had a miscarriage and conceived Olivia 8 months later. Erin I was ntnp first month 10 weeks after birth! My Jan 2015 loss lost baby at nearly 9 weeks it had Down syndrome then took me just a bit over 13 months then had a blighted ovum and lost baby on Valentine's Day :(

Ashermans syndrome is scarring adhesions on the uterus after a d&c I have a Hysteroscopy booked for 15th April. Some months most of them I spotted one day in 2ww until period arrives but on a few occasions quite a lot this month being one of them but that may be due to loss spotted 7,8,9,10,11&12

Xxx

Acupuncture is always something people mention to me but don't think you get that here xx

I've been humming and hawing about vitex I'm not sure?

Im on cycle 13 right now..we concieved our son very unplanned, WHILE taking birth control...not #2 just is not happened. I have been diagnosed with mild PCOS just last month and started taking Metformin. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks in October.. This cycle (CD 13 today) I took Soy Isoflavones from CD 5-9, im temping and taking OPK's which seem to be getting darker now but I dont know, I just dont feel like anything is helping me :( hope we all have our BFP's soon!

I definitely recommend acupuncture. I had it done today in fact--I go once a week. It doesn't hurt at all. I obviously don't have any results to share yet, but it has lessened some of my PMS symptoms (which helps with symptom spotting, lol). tinymumma--I bet it would help to regulate your cycles, and they use vitex in the TCM herbs.

My middle name is Erin :)

Anyone ever temped vaginally? My temps have been very erratic lately and i think I might benefit from it...i am sometimes a mouth breather and I don't think that helps...thoughts? How are we all feeling today? I'm 12dpo but have NO symptoms other than cramping...and obviously my chart is hideous this cycle. If I hadn't had a progesterone draw on 7 dpo I wouldn't even think I'd ovulated. I think it's because I switched my waking time from 5:00am to 4:00am about two days before ovulation so my temps went down overall...

Hi there,

We've been trying a year now (on cycle number 10, my first cycles were long!). We're trying to conceive our third baby and like you, it happened soooo quick the first two times. So this has been a massive shock!

We've had all the testing done and it's all come back normal - all of it: bloods, ultrasound, sperm, my tubes, follicle count... It's just unexplained :(

I am so ready for this final baby, it was never meant to take this long!

I think it's pretty amazing. It's completely natural and fixes any hormonal problems, however I've seen ladies who have regular cycles with good lp's and no other problems take it thinking it will help them get pregnant faster and it's screwed with their cycles horribly. Maybe speak to a naturopath and see if it's right for you? I sill can't find any and don't think I'll find it in time to make a difference this cycle :/ It's pretty amazing stuff

Oh oglethorp I'm sorry :( I haven't had as much as a squinter on any tests I've taken and I find myself thinking blimey nothing at all maybe there is something wrong, but to go through the emotional roller coaster of seeing something there or knowing it was a chemical and what could have been must be so hard. Glad to hear it can happen and here's hoping next month will be your month!

Shedevil18 any updates? Fingers crossed for you!!!

Wantingagirl what is a hysteroscopy? Will it remove some of the scarring? From what I take from what you said it will help with the spotting? Gosh you've had a difficult journey hun :hugs:

May55 it's such a shock to the system when it happened so easily before and you can't help but assume things would be the same again. I hope the metformin helps you. What does soy isoflavones do again?

Ltweety lovely name :) I've never temped at all. It makes sense though that vaginally might be more controlled? Less things like air temp.affecting your mouth. Maybe some of the other ladies have a better knowledge on this though!

I will have a look into acupuncture after so many recommendations :)

Squirrel is it a relief to hear nothings wrong or do you find that hard as there is nothing to work on or fix to help the situation? I hope you can conceive baby #3 really soon!!
