I have been getting a massive-gaping-hole hungriness every two hours, regardless of how much I ate two hours ago. :pizza::munch::pizza::munch::pizza: If I ignore it too long (feeling like I JUST ate, or don't really want to eat) it turns into a semi-queasy tummy. Yesterday I didn't eat for four hours (quite full from lunch) then suddenly I was feeling really iffy. I made myself eat a little something (S L O W L Y) and felt better for it, but this is a bit hard to get the hang of.

If this is all ms amounts to I'll be quite grateful. Definitely not complaining, lol.

While I'm still adapting though, does anyone have snack/mini-meal suggestions that are relatively easy? Things haven't been terribly appealing lately....

granola bars, nutri grain bars, yogurt and granola, apples, oranges, strawberries, blueberries, crackers, pretzels, there is tons of healthy foods.

Right now I'm eating cold pasta salad (It's basically tri-color spaghetti, cooked, drained and chilled, covered in spinach and broccolis and with Kraft Sundried Tomato Dressing).

Also, did you know that your stomach will grumble when you're thirsty? I didn't know that until about a year or so ago. Even if you've just eaten, your stomach can grumble to indicate that your needing more fluids. By the time we get that "Mmm, I feel parched and definitely need some water now!" feeling, we're already dehydrated (I've been told) so I try to drink even when I don't want any water.

Also, I'm craving Dreyer's Berry Sherbert, graham crackers/peanut butter and bananas, peanut butter and pickle on toast sandwiches (no, it's good, really!!), grapes (I love me some good, ripe, red grapes that pop when you bite them!), and also Fortune Avenue Veggie Potstickers (I just put them in my steamer for 14 minutes and they're done and soooo good!).

i've had that feeling every 2hrs for 5wks now and have only gain 3lbs with lots of fruit and yogurt (also agree about the water) You'll be thankful for the water and fruit later on if you get used to it now!lol. I just change it around alot so i don't get tired of eating the same things. GL hon!

I had the same bad nasuea you have at your stage in pregnancy, thankfully mine went away at 6-7 weeks. I get hungry every 2-3 hours now in the 2nd tri, and I snack on special K cereals, sliced apples (really makes the baby move when you are further along :) ), grapes, fresh pinapples, snack size bags of popcorn, granola bars etc. I hope you get to feeling better real soon, it does get better :)

I've been snacking on plain Cheerios (no milk), raisins, bananas, watermelon, and slices of apple. I've been nauseated off and on, and these are the foods that seem to go down easiest while at the same time filling me up.

Cottage cheese is a good protein snack and being protein it will keep your blood sugar up higher and perhaps last longer. Peanut butter, beef jerky etc are all good to mix it with the simple carbs that our body craves with MS.

Ooooohhh cottage cheese! Now that made me instantly want some! :D
I have been noticing that my all day sickness goes away nicely with a bit of plain yoghurt. I don't know what kinds you have there but I would definitely not suggest the fat free stuff as it doesn't do the thing as well.

You all are making me hungry! LOL. As mentioned above, my fav is yogurt w/ granola and fresh fruit. I'll also eat a bowl of cereal or organic soup. Hummus w/ whole wheat pita is another regular. If you are wanting to buy something already made, Wendy's has a berry-almond-grilled chicken salad that is really good!

I'm starving too! On holiday tho so im eating rubbish!! Fish n chips, ice cream, sweets and crisps today but I swear I will be eating healthy from next Monday when hols are done! This is just my holiday blow put honest!!

Usually at home I chomp on raw carrots, bell peppers and cucumber. Also prepared fruit like watermelon, pineapple, grapes etc and we eat loads of salads and I love backed sweet potatoes and they are full of vits! I'm a good girl usually honest I am!!

Thank you so much for all your suggestions. I'm writing a shopping list now. We usually eat healthy stuff, so that's not a big change, happily. Everything that I usually keep on hand just wasn't sounding too good, so thanks for some new ideas. :flower:

I was just thinking this same thing today...all of a sudden I'm hungry every couple of hours! How far along was everyone when they started wanting to eat all the time? My favorite snack is a dove chocolate melted with some pb and eaten with a sliced banana. My own mini fondue snack :)

I was lucky enough to not get m/s (hopefully i don't pay for that later:haha:) but started eating constantly at 5wks with no true sign of slowing down. Only had a day or two of nausea that stopped it:blush:

Ohh and thank you... i now want a dove bar:haha:

These are the only things I have been able to stomach for the last few weeks:
- nectarines
- tropical fruit salads
- humous and raw veg crudites (celery sticks, carrot sticks, pepper sticks, cucumber sticks)
- philadelphia and crackers
- rice cakes (the really skinny ones)
- savoury pop corn
- salt and vinegar baked crisps/ pickled onion monster munch
- toast
- crumpets

oh, and predictably, i can still manage any chocolate just fine.

Wow you are all so good !!!! I love all the rubbish food chips, cheese and ice cream (Im not over weight just getting the munchies)

I had 5 choc twix bars yesterday - he he !!! Im not buying any for a while now......

Twix bars?? Oh my... Now you gals are making me want chocolate. :haha:

Guess it'll just have to wait till Saturday! (hubs and I only do sweets two days a week)

Thank you all!

Also, @MissingMo - The needing to eat every 2 hours started just 2-3 days ago. Before that I had close to a week of needing food every three hours or so, with the timing being a bit more forgiving than now.

I started eating like a horse at about 5 weeks - i needed something every two hours and the pangs were so bad i had to eat right away as i could not physically do anything else unless i had food in my mouth. I didnt mind initially as I was enjoying my food and had an excuse to stuff my face all day.

I'm now 13 weeks. I still need to eat every two hours: only problem now is that I have strong food aversions, can not stomach much at all, am nauseas all the time and do not actually want to eat. However, if I do not eat something as soon as I feel hungry, I throw up - and if i eat more than just a little bit to reduce the hunger pang, I also throw up. So I eat as little as I can get away with to make the hunger pangs reduce to bearable levels. Problem with that is I am always hungry and have to think of something small to eat every two hours without fail. It is to the extent that I wake up three times a night having to eat. Vicious cycle. Cant wait til I get through this stage. It makes me a tad miserable, no matter how positive I try to remain about it.

Yes!!! I'm hungry every 2 hours! Sometimes it gets a bit annoying but as you said, if I don't eat I start feeling queasy. The only hurdle I've yet to overcome is in the morning. I wake up absolutely famished. I try eat before the nausea sets in but it doesn't seem to matter, some or part of it comes back up. :(

And thanks for the great snack suggestions everyone! I need to make my grocery list!
