Anyone else get severe ovulation pain?

I never could tell when I was ovulating before my first baby, but after my period returned I have noticed I get terrible, severe ovulation pain. Anyone else been through this? I'm just curious why before it never bothered me and now it's near crippling. Laughing and moving are almost impossible while I ovulate because the cramping is so bad!
