wondering who else is growing out their hair colour now that your pregnant??

I did last time too, as was worried if i put more blonde on that it would go orange!

Don't mind growing it out this time as its in crap condition so could do with a fresh start!

Think i need a trim soon, as it seems to be growing fast!

OMG I can't possibly... I'm as grey as a badger :haha: my roots simply have to e coloured black!

I bought some hair dye as my hair was dark purple, i was going to bleach it then dye it a coppery colour. Now i cant :(

I won't be colouring mine while pregnant but I only have a semi dye on which is similar to my brown colour so shouldn't be too bad, I just hate it when it fades to a redish brown and I normally go over it with another semi dye but I won't now. I think you can dye your hair after first few months of pregnancy but I won't risk it.

x

I hadn't heard about this at all!! Are we not supposed to colour? I had half a head of highlights and a few red bits added last week!

Like everything, it has its risks. Read this article:

https://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-safe-to-color-my-hair-during-pregnancy_3273.bc

I asked my stylist and nhs direct and there's no proof that colouring your hair affects the baby. I had mine coloured once in the last twelve weeks.

I am not sure if there is even any evidence to this I asked midwife last time and she said it was fine but then I've heard other in here say not to dye it. Midwife said to me that certain amount of everything we use are absorbed by the body such as moisurisers, hair dyes etc but that the amount would be so small it wouldn't cause any harm. Dunno where it came from that it can be harmful but it scared me a bit and it's not necessary to dye mine so I'll just leave it. You don't see pregnant celebrities walking round with badger strips though do you? lol

I won't be colouring my hair during pregnancy. But I'm going to look like a state! I have blonde highlights on top of dark blonde hair so the roots are starting to show pretty bad! But I'm moving to a sunny country in a couple of weeks so hoping the sun will help dye it naturally!

It really is safe, especially if you go to a salon since they won't let chemicals touch your scalp, which is the only place there is even a miniscule risk. It's more about inhaling the chemicals.

Although dyes do react funny with preggers hair lol

I get mine foiled so nothing touches my scalp!! My roots are pretty large at mo though!!

rocking the dishwater blonde roots, it aint cute =\

Isn't it said for it to be okay when you're in your 3rd trimester? My mother got her hair done finally when she was almost due with my brother.

He's an alien and is weird but I'm sure it wasnt due to the chemicals. hahah...maybe? lol !!!

hahah I dyed my hair was supposed to be a chocolate brown over a medium auburn hahah it went pure black its like I put black hair dye on my head LMAO!! id say its safe but results are not promising!

The risk is tiny, also high lights are much better than all over colour. I however am growing it out just in case and too save money! I want to buy baby stuff :)

i dyed my hair yesterday as long as your in an open space and dont breathe it in. none of the dye gets into your blood strem

I dyed mine last week ladies.....checked it out with my hairdresser 1st and she gave me the go-ahead......only issues she said are that it might not take as well, cover your greys or last as long as norm.....I would say I already agree with her

Theres no proof but i still wont take the risk in 1st tri, even as an ex hairdresser. I bought some semi Manic Panic dye instead lol
