Ok is she forgetting its your right?! What medical reason has she given? Get the vaginal birth and cesec handbook by Wendy Savage. Brilliant. Gives u all the stats and risks in an unbiased way.

I cant wait to meet my midwife and tell her not only am i having a vbac im also doing it at home! Unless there is any REAL medical reason not to do it at home, like the placenter is over the scar then its my way or the highway for them!!!

Dont let them scare munger u girls either. The risk of rupture is .075! Tiny!

I had my DD by emergency c section after a 60 hour back 2 back labour, my DS i had naturally with a 2 hour labour, i am hoping i just get to the hospital with this one, would loved to have had a home delivery, but our nearest hospital is an hour away :) I would deffo ask for a 2nd opinion :)

I hope to have an VBAC I really don't want to go through the pain of have a c-section again :nope:

Hey,,I had 3 normal delivery's before I had a c-section as my daughter was breech. I didn't want the c-section but wasn't given a choice. I then had a VBAC which was successful - a 4 hour easy labour only pain was being strapped to the machine which made moving around limited. And then I had my son afterwards at home which my consultant advised against but my midwives were very supportive. Put your foot down,,agree to the possibility of a c-section IF they allow you to try for VBAC first. They will monitor you for 45 minutes to see if there's any chance of uterine rupture anyway so you'll know there and then if VBAC is the sensible option or not :) . Good luck x

I'm planning one. My Dr. Said that I can as long as baby is head down this time :)

I'm not sure to be honest, i know when ive mentioned it in the past people have wanted to shoot me....but i had a good experience when i had a c-section with my little girl so i wouldnt mind if i had to have another. Which ever is safer for my baby is all i care about.

Good luck to all you girls which ever you choose to have :)

xXx

P.S. Mrsbump1 your baby is absolutily beautiful :)

I want to but I haven't discussed it with my dr. yet.

Thanks hun :)

I also want to do whats safest and best for my new buba but that doesnt have to mean another c-sec. Mind u i wouldnt hesitate if the situation really did need another one x

I'm hopefully going to be under midwife led care this time. Even my consultant at the time said I have no reason to have another section.

I loved my c-section! Absolutely loved it!!!!! And plan to do it again next time around. I'm just throwing a different view out there lol. I have thought of a VBAC just to have all those experiences I never had with my daughter, such as my water breaking and rushing to hospital, or that intimate moment when the baby comes with my DH and the baby. But I don't know if I can stand the pain in that region. I'm scared of tearing! With my section the pain was localized to my stomach area which I found very easy to deal with. I was up walking within 12 hours. And I took care of my daughter from the first hour on. It was great!!!!!!!!!

I am planning on another c section. If I hadn't had mine the first time around my son could have died. He already wasn't breathing when he came out, and spent some time in the NICU in another hospital. It was an awful thing to experience. He was term, no pregnancy complications, head down etc. They could see his head, but after 3 hours of pushing and a total of 22 hours of labor I am glad we had the c section, or he might not be here today. I am terrified it will happen again. Maybe I am too narrow for a baby to fit and it's not worth the risk to me.
