 Well thats all I can say about it! lol!

Nah, im enjoying seeing all the transformations, but its our first house renovation and wonder if anyone has tips, ideas, or just wants to share the highs and lows of house renovating, esp those who are living in theirs while its being done.

Ours was earthquake damaged so we had to take it back to the frame and re-do all the brick, gib, plaster, wiring, plumbing and decorating.

I would NEVER do it again

Builder said 5-6 weeks, it took 5 months and we were in temp accom the whole time, not fun, not fun at all!

What work are you having to do?

So sorry to hear about your house. Is it lovely and perfect now?

the house is an old stone build house dated somewhere back in the 1800, its fairly large, 5 bedrooms, 2 receptions rooms, basement (which isnt common in the UK).

We have damp problems and the stone is cold so having to insulate all the rooms with boarding and obviously treat the problems (which are multiple). All the rooms are very dated, like last done 1950s lol!

So new bathrooms (3), new kicthen, each room needs replastered and insulated, all new electrics, we need to re plumb at some point, basically everything needs done, although were lucky that we dont have to take out ceilings etc

We are living in it so its difficult to get things done, esp with a toddler and twins on the way, plus money isnt endless.

We're renovating ours now :) we're done with walls painting & moving some rooms. The house is not old it's only 12 years old. It's a rented flat, but were allowed to do some changes. we dont have major works, it's basically redocorating, & buying new furniture.

The kitchen sink & some cupboards need to be changed, I have a broken sink in one of the bathrooms, & we need to apply new silicon in the bathrooms as the sides of the bathrooms have moulds.

We have central AC that still needs maintenance. We have false ceilings in the corridors, we're done changing them.

The house is huge. We have 4 bedrooms + 4 bathrooms + a maid's room with built in bathroom + L-shaped living & dinning area.

we will have the following rooms:

Day room for Omar - it's a play area with his toys & TV- almost done, we have the curtains fixed today & all his days are already there. We'll get & fix the book case on Saturday, & we need to buy a TV
bedroom for Omar - curtains fixed, furniture will arrive on the 26th
Master bed room - black out fixed, we didnt buy the firniture yet
Guests room - Furniture already fixed, we're using it until we get a new bedroom
Living area - almost done we need to buy coffee tables & some accesories
Dining table - We didnt find one yet, so we're using the kitchen table.

I've also started re-arranging our pesonal stuff. It's a lot of work but I'm so excited/ I took some before pics. The house was in a mess but now it's looking better :happydance:
