I really don't mind whether we are pink or blue - and I think i would like the surprise at the end - and people guessing through the pregnancy.

However, DH really wants to find out the sex - keeps saying we're going to find out soon - and that it will give him time to "prepare" for whichever it is.

He seems so excited by it that I do sometimes waver, but am secretly hoping that baby will have it's legs crossed or something....

DH reckons that if person doing scan knows then he should know.

I think I'm just a traditionalist and want to hear that "it's a girl" or "it's a boy" once he or she comes out!!!

heya hun i was in the same situation.

In the end OH said he was going to tell everyone and they were all going to try and keep it quiet for me.

But it sort of just took the fun out of it?

So I said, fine, I'll find out.

Now at 30 weeks i'm pretty glad I did! I've got nearly everything sorted in advance - but this is only as we don't have much money

if we had more money I'd have preferred a surprise and could go out shopping once bubba was born!

I was debating the whole team yellow thing. To me the wait and see approach was part of pregnancy but my OH couldn't see any other choice but to find out. In the end I felt like as I had the ultimate say on pretty much everything else in this pregnancy I owed him the chance to have the say on something and yesterday we found out we're due a little girl. We're both really excited about this, but I think I'll fight harder for team yellow next time round!

I was in the same situation – I didn’t want to find out but OH did.

Luckily for me the week before the scan we were on holiday and a lot of people we met were telling us how it is really nice when you don’t know and they tell you in the delivery room what you’ve had.

Then OH started thinking it would be nice to have the surprise :happydance:

I’ve told him that this way we get the best of both worlds as we get the surprise but when baby comes we also get to go out and do some shopping for gender specific stuff too :)

I've told OH that if we have another (which we hopefully will) then we can find out next time :D

Same here - hubby desperately wants to know, has said if we can't find out at the 20wk scan he'd like to have a 4d scan to find out, I quite like the idea of finding out at the birth.... suspect I'll give in, he's so keen to find out and I'm not totally averse to it :winkwink:

Were the complete opposite - I want to know the sex of the baby but my OH wants it to be a surprise....not sure what we are going to do yet! x

i was the same as you! me and oh have come the the conclusion that only me and him will know. the surprise will be for the rest of the family. gives us time to prepare :) but also a little surprise at other side :) x
