Anyone else with shorter cycles?

My last cycle was very short indeed (17 days, ov on CD7) should I be concerned? (I'm presuming it was just one of those cycles)

My normal cycles are ov on CD10-13 and a 11 day LP, so still a bit short but not overly so.

Anyone else a short cycler & was it flagged up as a problem with your doc/FS? xx

Mine aren't super short but average between 23-25 days, and I generally ov around cd 13, doctor wasn't concerned at all, but I'm not convinced! lol! I'm hoping that it won't be a problem once we finally get to see a fs! Sorry not really any help!!

My cycles are also short - average23-25 days - ov CD10-12 with a usual 12-13 day luteal phase. My FS is concerned about it, mainly becuase they haven't always been that short. She said that your cycles shorten as you approach menopause - this was on my first meeting with her and following subsequent tests she confirmed that I have diminished ovarian reserve.

I'm obviously not saying that this is the same for you, but my short cycles seem to be what my FS is most concerned about. I think the main thing is that they have become shorter - so I guess if they've always been that short then it's not so much of a concern? Last cycle I ov'd on CD10 which she wasn't happy about so she has just put me on clomid this cycle to see if that will help lengthen it at all.

I am concerned about diminished ovarian reserve, it's my biggest fear to finally get all my tests done, only be told my eggs are no longer any good.

I came off 16 continuous years (went on as soon as my periods started) of birth control 2 years ago, so I only have the cycles since that to go on. They have always been similarly short, but this last cycle was unusually so. I have had two 22 day cycles this year as well...

I would like to try clomid before I run out of time, but I'm having a hard time getting referred at all, as my GP says I haven't been trying long enough (Apparently my molar MC in march 2009 reset the NHS TTC clock) quite frustrating.

My cycles have been 24 days and I had an ovarian reserve test and it was really good.. I also spot before AF, so- jeez. Its so hard to know and predict and work out these things isn't it?

I can't help much I'm afraid but this is something I have also been wondering about! I was on the bcp for 13 years, came off in January 2008 and started ttc in Feb 2008. I fell straight into regular 28 day cycles but then in August last year my cycles dropped to an average of 24 days though it seems I still ov around CD 14. I have had a hard job getting my FS to talk about it as my previous CD3 tests were all OK. I am also worried as I am having to have high doses of FSH to get my follies to respond so am going to query when I can whether I can get my ovarian reserve tested - was very interested to read what you had been told HappyDaze.

So then as I understand it short cycles can be due to:

Just short cycles, no problems and no issues
A short luteal phase due to low progesterone (also causing thinning of the womb lining with associated spotting)
Short cycles due to diminished ovarian reserve

Anything else??
