I went to the midwife on Monday and picked up gtt test results on the way the result was 10.7 for the 2 hour result which I thought meant it was ok, the student midwife trilled yes, lovely and fine and her mentor only queried when I was in to see consultant next. Then we had a chat about me being anaemic at 24 weeks so we upped my iron to 3 tablets which I have been religiously taking with juice and not within 2 hours of calcium. So the dr rang 2 days ago and said it was gd as the level was over 7.8 and that my count is still down I'm to discuss it all with the consultant after we established the midwives weren't leading our care. 2 days on the midwife has called left a message saying my glucose is slightly raised and the antenatal clinic may want to speak to me or might write to me-I'm more confused than ever! Then I got a text saying I need iron tablets and to see my gp, which means they aren't aware and haven't made any notes of the iron I'm already taking!

I'm not feeling very confident at this stage as to what I'm being told or who I should be listening to-thank goodness it is consultant tomorrow!

Whinge over lol :)

Confusion city!? Hope they get it all figured out soon... Best of luck hun!

cant imagion how you feel i got confused reading it

ahh tell you what, I am 32 weeks and only seen my midwife twice, she is useless.

Some just don't seem to keep up with hospital and consultant doings.

It's just mind boggling!! Just hope I get a switched on consultant tomorrow last time they told me that their appointments are just a top up of what midwives do.....ah well we shall ask away tomorrow!

Yes! My midwife annoyd me the other day when she just completely ignored any of my extra notes from the consultant and completely missed that i will be going for extra scans and things. I thought she was the one who was supposed to be there if i needed any questions answering!? I just felt like she was just there to fill in the needed paperwork such as my blood pressure and babys heartrate then kick me out the door as soon as possible. Very disapointing care

Does seem to be a pretty common occurrence these days though and it's really sad that we seem to have to struggle and battle on to get quality care!

Gosh :haha: I asked my mw if I can start on raspberry leaf tea & she didn't know anything about it.. Google it is then! :dohh:

If your GTT is 10.2 doesn't that mean you have GD? Mine was 8.1 and that meant I have GD. Xx

Gp said so but mw was stuttering away that antenatal may want to speak with me about more blood sugar tests....so now I'm afraid to eat anything that might make a difference-I'm already massive according to the world and his wife lol.

Really?! That's bad to the point I'd be checking her credentials!! Is she trying not to get drawn in on the will it wont it work thing or does she genuinely not know-if so how you can't be the first or last to enquire about it!
