wish they'd gotten an Amnio? I certainly do now, looking back...would have saved me a lot of worrying and uncertainty. I know they say there are risks, but they are so miniscule and I'm really regretting not getting one.

Was there any reason why you would have had one? I thought they offer them if something comes up at the 20 week scan? If not, then there would be no need to take that risk. I'm sure everything is fine. I'm a natural born worrier too.

No. One of my coworkers and his wife lost their baby due to an amnio. It was so awful for them that he urged me not to get one, and I didn't.
I understand the risk of losing the baby due to the amnio is small, but it happened to these people and they were devastated.

Try not to worry.....worrying will not change anything anyhow - just enjoy the short time left with your pregnancy :hugs:

I don't think an amnio would have set my mind at ease. I'm convinced my LO started out perfect based on the tests they were able to do, and just looking at his U/S pictures. What worries me is after all that...as the pregnancy progresses and even during the birth, and I think about silly things like squishing him or his hiccups and cord compression and all the multitude of things that can cause brain damage, etc.

Basically, my worry cannot be alleviated by anything on the outside. I'm just going to worry anyway.

Today my new worry is a swollen ankle and sudden weight gain. So, got a call in to my doctor to see if I should be concerned with that. If it's not one thing, it's something else.

it's easy to say you wish you had had it now that you haven't and still have your baby on board. Personally I wouldn't have the amnio x the risk is small but often bigger than the risk of something being wrong. Plus imagine if the amnio had come back fine but then you'd be worried it could have hurt bubba
