Hey
I was under Silver Star as well due to slightly raised blood pressure. They were absolutely fantastic! I had tons of tests done as to why my blood pressure was high, everything always came back as normal and I never had any problems but I was still seen regularly. Towards the end of the pregnancy it got a bit silly as I had to see a consultant every week but heyho, better safe than sorry.. Their clinics are sooo busy though so if you can I'd recommend when you book your clinic appointments make sure you get your appointment for 8.30 in the morning (the first one available!) as if you get a later one you might have to wait forever as they tend to run a bit late.
The silver star midwives are all so lovely and sweet and so supportive. I only ever saw two different doctors and they were both lovely as well but they always seem to be in a rush during the clinics so I found I had to be quite pushy with them if I had any questions and didn't want to just be brushed off.
When you go in to give birth you just go in to the regular delivery suite and have a regular midwife (or I did anyway!) but they always notify the silver star team and at some point you will be seen by one of the consultants. I had to stay in the hospital for two days after Maya was born because they wanted to keep an eye on the bp and both days I was seen by the same consultant who I saw during the pregnancy as well. I loved giving birth at JR as well, the staff is just fantastic there.
