Hey

I am having a nightmare with my work.. throughout my pregnancy i was pretty much pushed out of my job and the moment i told them i was pregnant they took me into a meeting and told me that i was struggling with work load and asked a member of my staff to take over my role and me take a back step.. now i know this was wrong but at the time i had so much going on i didnt pursue! I was very sick in my pregnancy and ended up getting signed off by the doctor for the last month..
I have never had a meeting with managers or HR with regards to me returning to work.. now basically i work for Benefit cosmetics within House of Fraser.. now my contract is signed with House of fraser not Benefit...however upon contacting them to find out how i stood with returning to work they have told me to contact Benefit Area Manager to talk aboiut moving stores or reducing my hours?! Is this right?!?! Dont seem like they are working with me and passing the buck.. also my area manager made my life a living hell throughout my pregnancy and i am dreading calling her a s she is so nasty!
Any ideas?
Thanks xxxxxxxxx

sorry i am not qualified to give you 100% accurate advice, but i am sure you should be going back to the job u were doing, ie same job, same hours unless you wanted to change your hours for whatever reason like childcare. Also i dont think its right wanting to send you another job, i sujjest you contact ACAS for advice, or citezens advice x

I am also not 100% sure, but i'm sure they have to offer you a job at the same level you had before you left. If they offer you a job at a lower level then they have to pay you the same rate as the job you were doing before you left. They also cannot force you to go back less hours than you were working before, however they can refuse to let you drop hours if that is what you request.

I would definatly take to CAB or ACAS, as they may be able to talk to the company on your behalf if needs be.

Have a look at this hun:
