anyone had a UTI/urine infection, can you please share your symptoms?

evening ladies just wondering if any of you have been diagnosed with UTI dring yr pregnancy, apparantly they effect 10%of all pregnancies??? i've had cramping paiin in tummy and lower back and really painful brexton hicks for a week, left a urine sample on friday having spoken to MW and didn't get results back till WEDNESDAY!!! and they were inconclusive??? they receptionist said i had to drop in another sample but befor 11am which i can;t do till monday as i don't drive so was just wondering if anyone's had an infection and what their symptoms were? thanks in advance x

Last UTI I had was pre-pregnancy and the main symptom is it really hurts when you pee (stinging feeling). My infection was pretty bad and I had blood in my urine as well. Inconclusive results probably means you don't have a UTI or if you do it's very, very mild. The lab would have tried to see if they could grow any bacteria - looks as though no growth was detected. If you're worried, try drinking some cranberry juice as that is meant to be a "natural" remedy for UTIs. Hope you're feeling better soon.

yes i just second what the lady above said, you usually have stinging/burning while peeing, lots of water and cranberry, lay off fizzy drinks, it could be just coming on you and maybe you dont have the stinging yet, so maybe just flush yourself with cranberry and water and see if it makes you feel better

i was in hospital at 36 weeks with the following symptoms... cramping, bad back pain and the feeling of wanting to pee a lot.I had no burning when weeing or anything..I went straight into the labor ward and hooked up to a machine..the normal urine test showed positive for loads of things and said it was a text book case of a UTI... They still sent urine off to the lab, sent me home with medication.. two days later i got told lab results came back negative, they believe it was a UTI but the lab got it wrong.. My symptoms went 2 hours after i got to the hospital though so guess i will never really know what it was... hope yours sorts itself out soon xx

hay i am prone to these bloody UTI's every year without fail i get them, so thats why it didnt suprise me when i found out i had one at about 32 weeks pregnant. My symptoms were feeling sick, needing to pee alot and cramps. Its nothing to worry about they just put you on antibiotics for a week and you as good as gold by the end. When ive had UTI's in the past my symptoms have varied one time i will need to pee all the time to the point where i dont wont to leave the loo because im always desparate, to burning pee and even violently throwing up. Just one of those things us women get sometimes. Dont worry about it thou its so common. wish you luck xx

I had a UTI last week. My symptoms were: needing to wee constantly but not much coming out, awful pain in back, lower abdomen and bladder area making it painful to move around.
I didnt get stinging/burning when weeing.

My urine definitely came back positive for nitrites and some protein using dip test at GP. They didnt send it to labs.

Was given 5 days of antibiotics and the symptoms went within 3 days.

I still have trace amounts if protein but thats from the last of the infection leaving my body.

I had one a few weeks back. I was going wee lots more than normal (for pregnancy) and had pain really low down. I didn't have any burning and could always pass wee. I didn't think I had anything wrong becoz in the past when I've had uti's not being pregnant I couldn't wee when I felt I needed to. Make me feel a bit yucky generally. Mine was picked up in a dip test x

thankyou ladies, it looks like i might be able to get a lift to the surgery tomorrow, i have no burning but a few of you didn't so i'm just gonna get another sample checked.
