Hi ladies
I didn't know where to post my question so I thought I'll post it here.
I was just wondering , did anyone get a high nuchal fold measurement at there 20 week scan ( and everything else was normal) and have a healthy baby?

My reading at 20 weeks was 7.2mm for the fold , but I never got my 12 week scan or any blood work done before my 20 week scan.
I refused amnio as Im only 21 .....

But has anyone had this problem and had a healthy baby?

I haven't, but friend had a measurement of 4.5mm and her baby was completely healthy.

7.2mm is high, I wouldn't say that there is any definite readings as some are miscalculated and its a relatively new concept that the nuchal fold is related to abnormalities. I would say however, that if you are refusing to know for sure with the amnio, then reading up on disabilities JUST in case wont do any harm. Good to be prepared whatever the outcome.

I thought it had to be done at 12-13 weeks or the reading can be off.

You are right, I forgot about that! Of course..the nuchal fold must be done within a short space of time or the results become inaccurate.

I don't know if you have posted this over in the Gestational Complications forum or not, but that might be a good place. Also, I know that some of the ladies who post in the Pregnancy Over 35 (and all obsessed with their nucal scores, as was I!) have had high ones. It seems someone had one that was over a 6 and their baby was fine.

we had a high reading at our 20 week scan and had to go back after 2 weeks for a re-scan. they were the longest 2 weeks of my life but the re-scan howed the length was just under the max limit.
We were obviously still concerned but LO was fine and is a very advanced toddler.
Obviously we were told it was within the normal limits but it was a time when we asked ourselves the "what ifs". Hope it all works out for you x

Thanks for the advice ladies , I'm hoping everything goes fine and I'll try posting it somewhere else too
