Anyone Have NT Scan Done With Twins?

I am having my 12 week NT scan (UK) done on Wednesday with the blood tests.

I was just wondering if any of you ladies had had this done with the blood tests and how accurate you think it was? As i'm sure I read somewhere the tests arn't as accurate with twins.

well i went to have it done but before i went in i was pulled aside by a midwife that said it may come back as high risk just because its twins. It was pointless doing it really as i could be worried for nothing as i wouldn't have done the amnio.

So i didn't do it and just had the regular dating scan. Its worked best for us as we haven't worried about it!

Although I wasn't going to get it done, was given exactly same advice as Loretta, and the only way for sure was amnios, if they had seperate sacs, which I didn't want done. x Good Luck

If you combine the scan with the bloods and all the other bits it's fine but bloods alone aren't great with twins.

I had them and my rests were 1:3700 and 1:4500 with scan of 1.1mm and 1.4mm I was 36 at the time too hth

I had the sequential scan. It combines the 12 week ultrasound and blood with the 16 week blood to give you a final result. I only got the odds for Downs. They can't do the other trisomies. I'm 39, so the 12 week results weren't stellar (1/81), but combined with the 16 week blood it got much better (1/470). From what I can tell, they take the larger NT number and the blood. CVS was out of the question because i have blood antibodies. I opted not to do amnio because of the risk.

I would do it again, but I would definitely set low expectations in terms of the numbers. Mostly, I wanted to see that there weren't huge NT numbers. I lost a baby with a NT of 5.3mm, and I really wanted to see <2.5mm. My girls had 1.4mm and 2.1mm, so I was happy.

I had the scan but refused the bloods due to notorious false readings with twins. The only reason I agreed to the scan is cuz I wanted to see my babies lol

I had the scan but not the bloods. My Dr told me it was pointless doing the bloods as they wouldn't be able to tell one baby from the other so he recommended just doing the scan and said if need be we can do amnio. Mine both came back low risk on the scan so we left it at that.
