My husband and I both have motorcycles, cruisers, and I rode once to work during the 4th week but the weather was too hot. The weather is getting better now and I thought I'd try to save on gas again before my second tri started (22mi commute to work one way). The ride itself went well, but when I got to work I had some 'pulling' in my lower abdomen, mild cramping but definitely nothing worse than that. It might just have been from me lifting myself a little to brace for bumps in the road I couldn't avoid. Curious if anyone else rides and how that has been going for them.

My OH has a motorbike, i have stayed well clear of it since being pregnant, its just not safe. Im guessing you will be experiencing the cramping from tensing your muscles when balancing etc, muscles start to loosen up when you are pregnant.

Me and DB each have Street Bikes... I haven't been riding really. I rode twice on a short ride but I just didn't feel right about it. Plus all the guys we ride with know I am pregnant lol, the one didn't even let me pull my bike back up the driveway.

Plus once I start showing a little bit it will be hard to ride since you have to lean forward and the tank gets in the way lol.

But same risks apply as riding regularly. I personally got too nervous because I couldn't stop thinking about wrecking. But if you feel comfortable and want to still ride you go for it!!! I just couldn't shut my brain up about thinking negatively so I stopped riding.

In regard to it being safe... no its not, same as anything though. Being in a car isnt safe. Walking on a sidewalk can become unsafe. Everything has risks. But for the most part if you are a good experienced rider and watch out for other drivers etc..

I understand things do happen and that a wreck on a bike can be more catastrophic, but you can get very injured in a car just as well.

My OH has one (and is getting a new one this weekend)
I haven't been riding it, and my in-laws said they'd skin him if they found out I was on that thing.
The only reason being, there is a HIGH chance of something going wrong with the baby if you wrecked on the motorcycle.
I wouldn't risk it. Wait the 9 months and then ride all your want.
To me, my baby is more imporant
HTH :)

Thanks for the input ladies! I constantly think of the risks too, I was just hoping to ride a little before the 2nd tri b.c I absolutely won't ride after that but I guess it's just not worth it.
