My Doc just started me on prometrium this month- ill be starting it after ovulating next week. I have no idea what to expect. My doc prescribed it to lighten AF to a more tolerable level... I googled it a bit and I think I need to ask my doc some more questions.... Like what happens if (when!) I get pregnant? If I quit taking it would I miscarry??? Is there any reason NOT to take it while pregnant? Will this give me pregnancy symptoms even if I'm not?

There is so much info and so many decisions to be made! I preferred having babies by accident like I did in my younger years ;-)

I'm taking it. It pretty much makes you feel like you're pregnant. So no symptom spotting! You do continue it if you're pregnant. Do not let your doc take you off of it

Hmmm... Maybe this will be good for me. Less to obsess over! Are you nauseous or anything like that?

I may have gotten a faint line yesterday so I'm not sure how much of that is due to possibly being pregnant, but I'm nauseous, boobs hurt, tired and peeing constantly. Boobs are very veiny as well.

This is my first time taking prometrium in the tww. Previously it was only when I found out I was pregnant

Oh and I'm craving salt. I did that with my two previous pregnancies

Ohhhh.... That sounds promising! I bet you are pregnant. :)
How many DPO are you?

I'm 11dpo :D

My chart shows a triphasic pattern, which could be from the progesterone, but I don't think so. Checking out the fertility friend chart gallery and there seems to be a big correlation with triphasic charts and pregnancy even with progesterone. I'm not going to test again until wednesday (16dpo). Hubby comes home at that point :)

Good luck!!!! I really hope it works for you! Please let me know.

I have an HSG scheduled Monday (CD10). I've heard great things about them helping fertility so cross your fingers for me too!

HSG do help! make sure to take tylenol before. I cramped so much during and after. It actually made me jump during it haha

I will definitely take something! Thanks for the warning... Any luck conceiving after your HSG or was it just recently? I've read some really good things so I'm hopeful! I had no problems getting pregnant before, but had a D&C due to hemorrhage in 2010- my doc thinks at may have blocked my tubes a bit... But I did have a miscarriage at 5 weeks in march so i know i CAN get pregnant. Hopefully the HSG is enough to clear everything and this will be my month. It's been too long and I'm losing patience!

well, I was ttc for 3+ years. I have PCOS and was overweight. My ex-oh and I broke up after everything just became too much. Stopped trying, lost about 50-60lbs and then started having normal cycles. met my now husband and conceived immediately (we weren't actually trying, just not protecting). Found out I was pregnant the day we got married and miscarried at 8 + weeks. had a month break, and then was pregnant again. Miscarried a week or two after finding out and am now trying again. I had the HSG with the ex and was still suffering from PCOS things. Our next step was IUI.

Because I have had 2 miscarries, I now have an appointment with a fertility specialist. The appointment was for the 10th, but DH will still be out to sea at that point, so we moved it to the 20th. I'm HOPING that I go in there all knocked up. My believed cause of losing my previous pregnancies was due to low progesterone. My levels were 4.4 when first checked for both pregnancies. Supplements didn't raise it too much, so I decided to temp and take it during my LP this time. Of course now I'm miserable haha.

I'm on Prometrium after ovulation, as well. The only "symptom" I get is some mood swings! I take it either until AF starts or I find out I'm pregnant (I possibly got my bfp this morning).. in which case, my doctor said I will need to continue to take it through my 1st trimester, I believe. I have also found I need to wear a panty-liner (I insert mine vaginally) after inserting it.
