I just took one of the sides of Zachs cot off and bleeding heck, dont know what i was expecting, but it wasnt fighting with him for an hour. The bed is not turned the other way against the wall, and hes gone off to sleep.

I feel like im babying him, and i should let him grow, but then he is just such a pain in the bum, its easier to keep him caged in!:haha:

We haven't gone back to a cot but we haven't taken the sides off yet! I'm dreading it as I know we'll have major battles over it. I'm not brave enough!

Megan wasn't out of her crib til 2 1/2 and irl most people I know are keeping their kids in cribs til 3ish.

A daycare girl I had... They had taken down the crib and put up the bed. 4 months later they put up the crib again as they kept finding her wandering the house at night and she was up to no good. Lol the crib kept her in there as she never tried to climb out.

I put Daisy in a bed at 2 and a half and she hated it and wouldn't sleep and wanted her cot so she went back into her cot until a couple of days after she turned 3 as she was too big for the cot really. She is in a normal single bed now and doesn't like it and doesn't sleep well in it at all. I would put her back in a cot now if I could!

Jc - did daisy like the security of the crib? Does she have bed guards on her bed?

We will keep our DD in a cot for as long as possible... DS bedtimes were hell when we moved him to a bed

Yes she loved the security of her cot. If she woke in the night or early in the morning she would happily look at a book or sing to herself or whatever. She does have bed guards on her bed but now gets out and cries the very second she wakes up. She doesn't like teddies or shadows or anything different in her room and I think she felt safer in her cot. In the 2 months she has been in a bed she hasn't spent a single night in it where me or hubby haven't had to be in with her. In her cot she happily slept through the night every night.

Jc - Megan loved the security of her crib as well. I think she would still be in there if we hadn't needed the crib for Jordan. She doesn't get out of bed unless we go in and get her... And I have no idea why she stays in bed.

Hopefully daisy will get used to the bed soon. :hugs:

Oh and Megan had a canopy on her toddler bed and it really helped her feel more secure before her bigger bed. It's an idea?

I had a great idea for Daisy last night lol, what bed does she hav e? Maybe if you got her a day bed and turned it against the wall it would feel like a cot again?
