Katies first christmas yay hopefully going to be amazing want to buy her lots mind you she will probably be more happy with just boxes and wrapping paper.
I am a bit worried about plans though anyone else find it difficult trying to please everyone with the plans you make also more difficult with two sets of grandparents who will both want to see he and there is an hour drive between them oh decisions!

Ugh I know that one, my family lives in Finland and my husband's here in the UK (only a 20min drive from us) and both expect us to spend christmas with them whereas I'd quite like to just stay at home with Maya, hubby and dog and have our OWN christmas. But we're off to Finland as my mum and dad don't get to see Maya very often at all so it's only fair. Plus I can't wait to show Maya snow. :D

Hey I see you live in Oxford, whereabouts? We're in Headington! :D

oh really that sounds like me only a lot further away my family get left out too really as i live here with my partners family around. Oh really where about in headington? i live in great milton. That will be great for your little girl to see the snow

well ive thought about it and thats as far as its gone so far , every year i say 'il start shopping early' and every year im still rushing about xmas week DOH!

thought about it and buying 2 pressies this week..so hopefully starting to
with 6 kids to buy for i have no choice but to start now really.
i love xmas though :hugs:
xx

We have the same problem. We would love Xmas at home alone with the kids but mum has other ideas!
We usually spend one year with my parents and one year with OH's.
Last year we spent on our own with the kids and tbh it was a let down. The kids opened their pressies then the 2 older ones went out to meet up with friends so was just me, OH and DD.
Am sure this year will be more fun....a baby makes Christmas :)

Ha ha me too! When I have bought pressies throughout the year I usually forget by time Xmas comes round. Many's the time I've tidied the cupboards out or cleaned behind the microwave to find a pressie I had hidden from the kids!

im also looking forward to a lill bit of alcohol:happydance: as i couldnt last year due to the pregnancy.
xx

I want to be able to buy sooo much but I will be on no pay whatosoever due to it being the 9-12 month part of my mat leave so am hoping OH will be VERY generous indeed! :)

Also I had a thought yesterday that as it is also Lucas' first birthday on 16th Jan I best be smart with the main presents as I wont want him to lose interest in them before his 2nd birthday! Although of course I will get him the odd little treat in between with his bday being so close to Xmas. Bit of a gutter as he wasnt due til 21st Feb but hey ho.

oooooh am I ever :happydance: I really love xmas.... always have!! but when you have children it brings back the lovely christmas morning excitement...I just love seeing his little face when hes creeping down the stairs to see what santas brought :dust:
Unless I get a surprise .... it'll be his last xmas alone before he has a brother or sister to share it with!

Generally because all my brothers and sisters (those that are near) and family gather at my mum & dads for xmas dinner I've always wanted to do that.......so santa comes to our house then a little later we drive to granny and grandads and the party starts : ) ... presents down there etc then on Boxing Day we go to my OH's family home so we sort of get to see everyone!

I've bought a few bits and bobs (normally its a last minute thing) but since Im due in Jan I didnt want the pressure too close to xmas so the plan is to get a little every month before then : )

We're gonna have this xmas at my mums but pop in to see OH's parents beforehand then vice versa next year. Then we're gonna start having our own christmas then as a family which will be ruby's 3rd xmas, obviously she will see both sides of her family on christmas day but we'll be having our own dinner just the 3 of us. Doing all of the xmas shopping at the end of october get it out of the way, can't wait now. Ruby will be 8months exactly on xmas day and i can't wait for it as she'll be doing so much more by then
xx

Im getting very excited. Today I bought his first presents. We're not going to go mad- a main pressie, things he needs and keepsake things. Just got him a personalised stocking, some bibbles and dummy clips. xx

I m excited more now after listening to everyones plans my oh says we arent to make plans until december so we don't stress over it i think thats fair enough :)

I've started to buy presents as my Xmas I will be on next to no money and don't want to be completely skint before starting back at work in January. Not sure what I am going to buy for a LO - just a few bits I think as she will only be 6 months then. Next year will be exciting as she will be more aware of what's going on

We're having dinner just the 3 of us but will most probably spend some of the day with both our families as I like to see our many nieces and nephews. Haven't started buying anything yet and will probably wait a bit longer to see developmentally where she is - she'll be 6 months at Christmas. Probably will get her one big present and then some smaller bits like clothes and books etc. I can't wait! X
