Sorry it's taken you so long to conceive :(

Hi, I've been trying for number 2 for a year in January.

It took us 2.5 years to conceive ds who is almost 2, I fell pregnant naturally after a hycosy the month before I was due to start clomid.

I have just recently been diagnosed with pcos and am currently on my first round of clomid, am cd 22 and I think I ovulated on cd19, fingers crossed!

I know what you mean about it being a lonely process, no one understands unless they've actually been in this position.

Hi girls, Im in the TTC #2 group as well!

I have a 20 month old daughter, conceived her our first month (not even trying) and my husband and I could not have been happier! We are now in our 7th month of trying, and I just finished my first round of Clomid today. Apparently after I had my daughter my hormone levels went all nuts and now I'm not producing enough progesterone to get pregnant.

Very frustrating knowing that your body is capable of getting pregnant and having a child, its just not working with you the way you want. How many months did you do Clomid? What are your other options that you are looking into? Just curios bc my dr said if clomid doesnt work in 3 cycles im done with that and need to go to a specialist.

So glad to have found these message boards and realize I am not the only one going through this.

^ how did you get clomid so quickly???

my son is 5 in 3 weeks, ive been trying for well over a year and have been diagnosed with hormone imbalances for 3 years and I have to wait another 4 month to find out if they will even allow clomid after over 6 months of testing for ovulation (no progesterone)

my best friend tried for 2 years and was told no to clomid and tests and that she had to naturally try longer and try dieting first (shes a bit over weight but certainly not huge)

thought you had to of tried for over 1 year before you qualified for fertility treatments?

I'm with you ttc #2 in the new year! I wish you the best of luck and lets hope we get our babies :)

I know this question wasnt for me but just wanted to say I think different doctors/consultants do things really differently. When trying with my first the process took ages, this time however it seems to be a much quicker process to get to clomid and I put that down to my consultant being much better this time and alot more on the ball. My last one didnt even get the right tests to diagnose pcos.

I dont think its fair you have to do 6 months of checks to test for ovulation, is this your gp or a consultant?

I conceived my son in the first month i dug out my ovulation microscope and thermometer ill post a link to my chart if you want?

the fertility specialist at the hospital, the gp transferred me pretty quick but the hospital just keep ordering more tests and knocking the date further back

I can understand how frustrating that is, it just seems like such a waste of time when if you've got irregular cycles and you're not ovulating clomid seems the obvious thing to try. Strange doctor:wacko:

I dont know why my doctor did it so quickly? I had been calling every month telling them my periods were SO crazy, started spotting on day like 18, would spot for 4-5 days then have a 5-6 day period. They kept assuring me it was normal to spot (wouldnt listen to how long and early i was spotting) , and finally said they could test my hormones. Once they found i had low progesterone the dr just said that clomid helps balance that out and she would start me that month. They said that since my hormones had been questionable and I had called so often about it, they know it had been low for the whole time ive been TTC so they decided to just put me on it.

I hope you (and your best friend) get them to do any testing you need and that they will let you start the best treatment asap. It is an awful feeling knowing that you probably need help and they wont let you.

We're on cycle 5 of TTC #2. Our DD was a surprise (conceived on Dianette!) so this is our first time TTC and i'm hoping it happens soon. I have PCOS but my cycles are reasonably regular nowadays but my LP is a little short at 12 days. I'm taking vitamin B complex to try and lengthen it and thinking of trying progesterone cream next cycle if this one is a bust.
JJKCB, I think O.Belle might be in the US? AFAIK since they generally pay for their healthcare you can have fertility drugs/treatment earlier over there than when the NHS over here would offer it and there isn't always the same stipulations for weight etc.

Pleased to meet you.x

Hi I had 3 cycles of clomid then I went onto metformin for a couple of cycles. They can up the strength of clomid. I was on the highest and didn't even produce a viable size egg. But It does work for many people.

Don't give up on it.xx

I went to a fertility clinic and they were amazing.
The docs have to ry you with clomid then they advise you to clinic where they can do lots of test. I had many, nothing to worry about though. Just bloods and ultrasounds. I have pcos.

They can workout different medicines to suit you and different techniques of treatments.

If you are unsure of anything I will try to help you in anyway I can. Xxx

Good luck with everything and keep in touch.:flower:

Hi,
I'm sorry your doctors are taking so long with you and your friend.
It's such a horrible feeling, that there not helping you.

It took my nearly 5 years to have my daughter and I found out that I had pcos 15 years ago. My periods were so extreme that I could only had 2/3 a year.
I tried for a year originally and then they put me on clomid, but when that didn't work it was metformin, texmofen iuis and hormone injections. Which worked!!!!

My daughter is nearly 4 tried again for a year and went on clomid for one cycle and nothing happened no even a hormone serge so now putting me back on hormone injections. Which I have to do myself for 8days. :/

But haven't had a period since oct so might have to wait;(

Please speak to you gp and asked to be referred to sub fertility clinic.
They will help greatly.

I do hope you and your friend get pregnant soon, as I know how upsetting it is.
Good luck.
