My LO started struggling with wind from 2 weeks old. She would thrash around and fuss on her bottle making it hard to feed her. She had fussy periods and we tried everything for colic and gas but nothing worked. Then I saw a post online about silent reflux and thought it could be that, I'd always thought reflux was being sick. So we tried infant gaviscon and she's like a different baby! She was always a good sleeper at night time anyway, but now she is much happier in the day and will just be put down and play by herself without getting upset and sleeps more in the day again.
:D Just thought I'd share, and if anyone else has a gassy fussy baby, that it could be silent reflux xx

Can I butt in and say gaviscon doesn't work for all babies with silent reflux, it can make it worse in some cases. My LO suffered with gas and silent reflux, and it turned out she was cow's milk protein intolerant which was causing the symptoms. Gaviscon made her worse, so I took her off it after a couple of weeks. She had ranitidine instead, which is the next step after gaviscon. This worked better, but it was hypoallergenic formula that cured all her problems. Just posting this because the symptoms of silent reflux can be caused by cmpi, and I wish I'd known this when Holly was suffering. She only outgrew it when she was 16 months old
