In newborn size, that is. We have:

19x short sleeve vests
7x long sleeve vests
6x no sleeve vests
13x sleepsuits
2x rompers
3x trousers/jeans/leggings
3x jumper/t-shirts/tops
2x dresses
2x socks
1x mittens
5x hats
6x full sized bibs
2x bandana bibs
1x 0-6 month sleep bag
2x blankets

I've been told we should only really need more blankets, another sleep bag, more bibs, hats, mittens and socks but we have enough actual clothes. I'd like a couple more romper suits and trousers and t shirts though... just because

Why so many vests? They must have been cute lol.
No onesies?

I would definitely say at least 1 more sleep sack! If they have an accident in one in the middle of the night you'll definitely want another on hand that's clean and ready to go.

Personally, in the newborn size (well, 0-3 for DD since she never fit newborn size clothes) I always went with outfits that buttoned up the front as babies hate having things pulled over their heads. DD spent most of the first few months of her life in footie pjs, but she was also a November baby, so the weather was quite different.

You seem like you're almost set though!

Wow! Your so organised I must get my butt in to gear & start picking up some bits :flower:

Edit: maybe more bibs would be handy, they go through them at a speedy rate :flower:

Yeah, the little tops we have so far are buttoned up the front! And definitely another sleep bag, too. And lots more bibs!

So many vests because we didn't realise how many we'd bought till I counted today LOL oh well... if we get an exploding nappy, I can just bin the vest rather than worrying about getting stains out :haha:

I googled baby onesie and it brought up short sleeved vests.

Definitely more mits and I'd say more socks too I probably have 20+ little outfits like dresses and rompers, 18+ sleepsuits, 14+ vests, 5 cardigans, 1 coat, 1 snow suit and any amount of mits socks and hats x

And you're due the day before me! I don't even know what I'm having yet, lol!

Modified, yes I could tell right away that it was a language barrier issue hehe :D Vests= Onesies... but in north america a vest is like a coat or sweater/jumper without sleeves. But wow you sure have a lot! I barely had any newborn size with my son, mostly 0-3 months, but he was so small that I wish I had more newborn sized items lol. I will be getting more this time around :) That is a great list, though. And with my son, I ended up with a whole lot of bibs from others... like 30+ lol

Oh yes, the first two are what I meant by onesies.
Just misunderstood you lol. When I hear 'vests' I think of this:

Now... being "okay if baby was to miraculously come now" ready and "I've got all the clothes I want" ready are 2 different things :haha: I've seen so many cute little outfits! My mum wants to knit cardigans too.

And you're due the day before me! I don't even know what I'm having yet, lol!

:haha: we've just been picking things up as we go. Like we were in tesco on Sunday and they had 3 for 2 on their 5/6 packs of vests so... well, we had to :haha:

Ah yeah, we call those vests too! :haha:

Wow :) you are prepared!!

I have only bought a couple of vests and sleepsuits in newborn, a couple in up to 1 month and a few more in 0-3 months. My son was 9lbs and long, he never wore newborn. I was preparing for him to be big, so didn't buy too many newborn things.

I've bought this little girl a fair few outfits already though, but in 3-6 months and 6-9 months. I'll be surprised if she's small and expect her to go into 3-6 months by the time she's 6/8 weeks. My son went into 3-6 months when he was 3 weeks old (he grew ridiculously quickly and kept climbing the growth centiles - born at 91st, by three weeks he was above the 98th). I expect a girl to be smaller, but still, the first couple of months I think she'll be in sleepsuits.

x

Oooohhhhh this thread finally cleared up the "vests" thing for me! I knew it couldnt be the vests like we think of here in the US but I wasnt sure what it really was. Sounds like vest = onesie. Ha! Okay, I feel silly, lol.

Wow that is alot for new born. We won't be buying alot in nb as our daughter wasn't in it for too long. X

I just cant help myself haha she's a spoilt little lady! My mil knitted me absolutely loads of cardigans for my son and he was never out of them but she won't knitt me anything for this baby because she 'has bad skin' :S I'm devastated I'd understand if I hardly used finnleys but he was always in them so I've just been searching eBay and there's people knitting some lovely things on there I'm just going to end up spending a fortune x

We've bought lots of newborn hoping she's small LOL! No one in my family has had a baby over 6lb! I was just over 5lb and my husband was bang on 6lb, I'm only 5ft 3in, he's only 5ft 5in etc... we shall see :haha:

I think you're probably okay for the moment but I agree you do need more bibs, socks, another sleeping bag, etc.
But if you want to buy more, buy more! :) We have about 13 sleepsuits, 13 daytime outfits, a few daytime sleepsuits, a few packs of socks, a gazzillion vests (just because we went through soooo many with my daughter we thought we could reuse hers being as their white. So we have like, an entire draw crammed full lol!) we've got some slippers, 2 blankets. Umm.. not sure what else. I can't think. But I'm not gonna not buy just because we have a lot. I may end up buying things just in a bigger size if I like them.
I do think you can have 'too much' but only because you may end up spending a lot of money on stuff that unfortunately only gets worn once or twice.
But I definitely don't think you have too much.
I would suggest some 0-3 stuff though. My friend bought all newborn as she was told she was expecting a small baby (6lbs) and ended up with a 10lb 10oz baby who didn't fit in ANY newborn stuff! So she had to go out and buy all new 0-3 stuff reaaaal quick after baby was born. We have a few newborn things that I loved justbecause I figured he can wear them straight away. My daughter was 8lb 7oz and 0-3 was HUGE on her.. it looked ridiculous. So wore newborn/first size until she was around 6-7 weeks old.

I think you need more sleepsuits. Tbh i would say you have far too many vests and outfits too. x

Ahh, so that's what a vest is. lol

I think you have a good amount there. Maybe more socks and mittens.

I have sooooo much stuff. I have enough for him from NB to 9 months. LOL Some 12, 18 and 24 months too. I <3 good deals. :winkwink: I have 2 sleepsacs with no arms and I think 2 sleepsacs with arms. I need to get some swaddle wrap blanket things with the velcro. :)
