I dont because in my area they all start in a morn when my son has asleep, hes 9 months now, i have friends who hav babies so we try and meet weekly so he still sees others.Think qhen he drops the morn nap i will take him

My lo is 11 months and I've never been to any playgroups. I've got anxiety and can't go on my own. If I had someone to go with if definately go to a few to get me out of the house.

I didn't used to but I do now. It's good to get out of the house and have a chat whilst the babies/toddlers all play together. Have you looked at your local library etc? They might have groups in the afternoon.

We didn't used to go to much, but from about 7 months we did more classes and things. Will he sleep in the car or pushchair? I found that if I stayed at home for every nap, I was never going to get out of the house. So now if we have something to go to (for instance, we take a class at 10:30 on Thursdays), I just leave a little early and take the long route there, so she gets a good 30-45 minute nap in on the way. Or alternatively, if you live in town and don't need to drive, just take a long walk to get there while he sleeps. She used to sleep much longer (1-1.5 hours), but I found that it made no difference if her naps got cut shorter and actually we were both happier to get out of the house and do something. My daughter is nearly 14 months and still showing no sign of dropping her morning nap.

We do get out of the house everyday and if was to meet friends with babies we usually meet aft lunch so he does see others.Tried lettin him fall asleep in car on the way but he wouldnt and waited till their and spend the whole time sleeping so we stopped and wil wait until hes bit older, not worried as he sees other babies anyway but jus wanted to ķnow if others that didnt go to them

I didn't go to any groups with DS when he was a baby, I had a circle of friends with children of a similar age and we met regularly. I have started going since my maternity leave started and enjoy it most weeks -some weeks it's hard going though.

I have only just started taking my dd to playgroup and she does seem to really enjoy it. I was like you with the naps too but recently I've found that I don't need to be as rigid with her naps and she's still fine. She used to be a nightmare of crankiness if she didn't nap at the right time but now she's on the move more and walking I find that she's more able to stay awake longer then will just sleep in the car or pram which she hasn't done since she was about 4 months old!
I don't think it does them any harm not to go to playgroups, especially under the age of 1, even now my dd and friends children barely pay attention to each other whenever we get together, when they are younger they seem more interested in adults anyway lol.
