Now, I hate bus journeys at the best of times but yesterday I was just disgusted!!

The first bus I got on, going to my destination, an elderly man was sat in the seat where the buggy bit is (hope you know what I mean!) - Did he move ? No.. This I don't mind, I would have told him to keep the seat anyways as he was obviously in more need than I was.. however..

On my bus journey back there were 2 people stood in the buggy bit, not allowing me to push my sons buggy into there, so I said politely "Can you move please ?" and the girl tutted and gave me a nasty look so I said "Listen, your not even meant to be standing there, it's for buggys and I have a buggy". So she moved.. A young boy (maybe 14/15) was sat in the seat in the buggy bit.. Now, there was plenty of seats on the friggin' bus, but he had to sit there ? - I had my son with me in his buggy and I'm CLEARLY pregnant, he didn't even OFFER me his seat and to make matters worse, an elderly lady got on the bus when it was packed out.. Did ANYONE offer her a seat ?? Did they hell.. It's bad enough no one offered me one, but hey if I'd had a seat when that lady got on the bus I would have even offered her mine!!

Where have all the well mannered people gone !?

tell me about it i get the bus daily to work and after a 9 hour shift need to sit down im 26 weeks and you can tell yet no one gives up their seat so having to stand all the way home and nearly falling over and having teenages whack into me when passing in the aisle bit god i was fuming!! xx

That's disgusting. I can't believe people can be that rude. I'll often give up my seat for people that look more in need. the only times I'm not sure if it's a woman and you can't tell if she's pregnant, or just got a bit of extra weight ( no offense to anyone!) sometimes it is hard to tell. But I'll often see, mainly young lads to be fair, just ignore elderly/pregnant/people with buggys, they clearly need the seat more than anyone else...grr. After working in retail for 8 years, sometimes you do despise the general public and how rude and obnoxious people can be. What happened to people giving up their seats, opening doors, even just saying thank you. Does my head in!!x

So right, it's such a shame! - You can guarantee my kids will offer anyone a seat, I will make sure of it!

I know what you mean hon, I am so tired of rude people everywhere. I often wonder if anyone has ever taught them how to be polite to others who are in need?

my parents always taught me to be polite and i always gave up my seat etc and my children will do the same....

lol I know about this too!
When I was having DS1 I was on the bus into town, already about a week overdue and I had a seat, an older (but not infirm iykwim?) lady got on and there were no other seats, plenty of fit people could have given up their seats but didn't and she turned to me and asked very rudely why I hadn't offered her my seat..
I simply looked at my huge 41wk pregnant belly and then at her she sighed and turned around I was so suprised I nearly fell off the chair!!
People these days......
