OMG does anyone else feel like everything is against them at the minute...if I wasn't at home alone right now I think I may have commit murder!

I have been waiting for days for a birthing ball to come from ebay...well it finally arrived this morning and I nearly got a knife to it!!! I ordered 65cm being 5'7" and on the net this is the size recommended....well it's frigging too small. I sit on it and my knees are up around my bleeding ears!:growlmad:

I have contacted the seller to ask to swap it for a 75cm ball, but looking at their ebay shop they only have 65cm in. To send it back, and cover the postage again will cost me at least another £12!! So my bargain ball will be no cheaper than if I had just gone for a higher priced one to begin with.

I now think it might be worth just reselling the one I have and ordering a 75cm BIRTHING ball from birthease rather than ordering another gym/birthing ball and not getting what I want. I nearly went into labour pumping the thing up with the foot pump supplied! Felt like I needed a lie down after!

So ladies, I will put this on the for sale boards too but if you are reading and interested I have a blue, 65cm ball with footpump for sale £12 in P&P in original packaging. Obviously I have blown it up, sat on it once and deflated it and put it back in the box. If you want to see the listing on ebay then LSUK Fitness is the ebayer/shop I got it from on ebay.

Yesterday my moses basket stand arrived from kiddicare...I expected it to be built and just folded in a box...nope! it was in bits and I had to build it! Now I can build whole flat pack bedroom furniture from ikea and cots on my own but this had me pulling hair out! Finally managed it. My babystyle pram cover also arrived and I am happy to say I was very pleased with it!

Other than that, my natal hypnotherapy 4cd box set and book arrived today so I think I might and put that on and try and calm down.

Moan over, deep breathes! LOL x

bless you! this may sound silly but my boyfriend got me a 65cm ball and i didn't think it was big enough.. so we blew it up more and now it's fine?! i'm 5'8..

enjoy the natal hypnotherapy - it's great xx

Im 5'7 and my ball is just 65cm... i could do with it being a little bigger maybe but it certainly serves its purpose, Im on there all the bloody time! x

Yeh, sounds silly but hav ya measured it to check it is up big enough, my oh pumped mine up and i sat on it and it wasnt big enough, when we measured it still had loads more to go even though looked like it was pumped up x

Hey ladies

I pumped it up and thought it looked small so had another go and putting air in it....I pumped it to within what felt like an inch of it's life...or cm in this case lol! I couldn't see how I could have got any more air in it. I was in 2 minds about getting a 65cm over 75cm and now I know why. I have ordered a 75cm one now so fingers crossed this one is right. Have spent over £35 on 2 balls now so hope I sell the other one x

i got the £6.99 gym ball from argos - im 5"6 and it felt a bit small at first but when pumped up more it was fine :)

Are you sure you blew it up enough? I'm 5'11 and my 65 cm works great for me.

I'm sure. It looked like it would pop if I blew it up anymore. It was very hard, no give really so pretty sure I wouldn't have been able to get anymore air in it. X

Luv, I posted in that thread - I'll have it off you ? :)

i daren't sit on one! When i was pg with my ds we did the hospital tour and they showed us the room with the birthing pool and in the room was a ball. The midwife coaxed me into sitting on it, which i did and it caught on the corner of the frame around the bath and burst! I ended up on my back on the floor like a beached whale whilst about 4 other couples tried not to laugh at me, oh the shame

I paid £4.99 for mine from argos. Its a 75cm one. I'm only 5"1 and I can only just touch the floor.

i am 5'8" and could only find a 65cm, it works fine but it could be bigger in my opinion. i just didnt want to order one and wait. the first time i inflated it, it seemed small and then i realized that even though it looked inflated completely, it still had a ways to go. maybe thats the problem? sounds like youve got a buyer on here though...so maybe its just best to sell it and get the bigger size that youll feel more comfortable on :) happy bouncing, once you get it all settled! :)

aww! ill be honest, ive had fears that mine will burst too. on the box it says that it was "slip and burst-proof" but i just dont think they quite understand that im like a whale sitting on that thing lately. im going to take extra care not to sit on it around any sharp corners from now on! :-/

The one i got from agros came with a measuring tape so you know how big it needs to go. Mine needed sooo much more inflating than i thought.

Mine was like that at 65cm. I deflated it and reinflated it, you just need to stretch the rubber a bit. The kids jumping around on mine helped loads too and now it's repumped up it's perfect. HTH.x

I'm 5'2 and have the 65 cm one and I can barely touch the floor with mine even though it's half deflated and dead squishy. I sort of envy you tall ladies. Not scared of it bursting though, my 13 stone hubby spends most of his time bouncing around on it like it's a space hopper or something. :dohh:

The only time I've used a birthing ball is during labor with my first baby. I hated the damn thing that much I booted it across the room and demanded an epidural for the 15th time lol.

LOL - Thank heavens I'm not the only one who hates them.

lol same here. I had back labor so sitting down was agonizing for me to sit down. I'd asked for an epidural several times but the midwife said no, it wasn't too late to have one either, she just couldn't be bothered to take me to the room to have it done. I think I booted the ball at her lol. My OH didn't know whether to laugh or die with embarrassment. He knows I can be very temperamental but forgot I can lash out like that when I'm in pain lol. In the end he was the one telling her to either do it or "she'll more than likely end up getting worse" lol.

i brought mine from 24 hour tesco for 4.99 65cm one. My mate had the exact same one and hers looked much bigger, it says you need to pump up, leave for 24 hours and then pump again... it worked but i was a little worried it will burst, my mate is 18 stone and hers has not burst... but im too scared and hubby says it was a waste of money..

it just takes up room now in the living room..might donate it to the maternity unit...
