Hi,

Just wanted to know if you give your lo's calpol when they are teething?. It states on the box not to give them calpol for more than 4 days so it put's me off giving it to him as there is paracetamol in it. I've also got the Ashton's powders as i read on here they were good. What worked for your Lo??.
Thanks. x

I used both for teething! Only gave 1 dose of each a day though!

yes its fine to give both together just stick to the recomended doses and your lo will be fine.

I was told by a nurse that the reason you shouldn't give calpol for longer, is that it could mask an illness. It's fine to give for longer if you know what the problem is, or if you've taken advice from a hv/dr. I have also been told that Nelsons teetha granules are good, but I haven't tried them yet. Ashton and Parsons don't seem to work for Holly x x

i was told by a pharmacist that nurofen for babies is better for teething than calpol:shrug: tbh i try to not give anything apart from ashton and parsons powders and teething gel as i dont want to rely on medicines to be the only thing to help teething as id prefer to use them for worse things but thats just me:)

I've used both. I only use calpol when he is really upset which is usually when a tooth is cutting. Mostly powder and gel is fine.

Calprofen (the calpol ibuprofen!) used it this evening and worked brilliantly! I will only give when she is really bad though and not more than once a day x
