Evening ladies, quick thread before I go to bedforshire. At which appointment do Dr or MW start checking you internally as I want to make sure I am looking prim and proper for the occasion :blush::haha::haha:

As far as I'm aware you don't get internals until you're actually in labour :flower:

I was asked at 32 weeks if I wanted to be checked... I said no..... Then I was check at almost 34 weeks.... I was told they will probably check me from 34 on....

If you have no problems at the birth lol, by which time I couldnt get to my bits. Maybee to have a sweep if you need one :)

I know it's different in the UK, I don't think they check you there. They started checking me at 34w. :flower:

Yeah, in the UK they usually don't check until you're in labor. But in the US, most dr's start checking at 36 weeks.

Over here they don't check until the onset of labour or when your well overdue!

in the uk, you only get internals in labour. none before unless there is a problem hun :flower:

Yeah I don't think they routinely check internally until labour, and if they check before then it's just to see if you're dilated and possibly in labour! I'm just over 37 weeks and they did an eternal check a couple of weeks ago, but it was because I was having strong pains and I was in hospital so they wanted to check I wasn't dilated. I wasn't and as soon as the doctor felt I wasn't she stopped immediately. It wasn't painful and was SO quick, so I'm really not worried if they have to do it again. They must see all sorts so I wouldn't worry too much!! :) xx

i'm in canada, they don't check here until labour, unless htey need to (pre term labour or complications or something)

Same here (not sure where you live but I'm guessing Aus/NZ by things you say).

My miwife said no checks until labour.

I swear they done about 4 internals on me beforevlabour with my DD but im not sure wen they did them hun and im in uk but maybe thats bcos i was high risk not too sure ring up and ask ur midwife xxx

TMI warning
Just to add by the time a doctor checked me my waters had been broken by the midwife and I was leaking water/meconium. To not be too discusting baby poop was leaking out of me so really dont think he cared about the hair lol.

Thanks ladies, like i said I started the thread before bedfordshire, which was to sleep jojo mummy, I have no energy for physical activities, and I had completely neglected this thread. I just wondered because you often hear ladies on here saying they are however much effaced etc. Well it has been trimmed since starting this thread so will just keep up to it until labour day, if I can be arsed

My MW said they are nto allowed to check you until you are at least 36 weeks (UK), but you probably wont even need checking until there is reason - ie in labour. Or if theres a clinical need, ie spotting etc. I almost got away without having any checks until I bled the other week. But as I'm having a section on Tuesday I cant see any reason why anyone would need to go near me - other than to catherterise me.

I attacked it with half a tub of Veet today. Plucked chicken me do :(

Why did I not think of veet, last time I used it I ended up with loads of scabs. It burnt every single hair hole and that was the sensitive one.

ouch! How long did you have it on for? Were you careful not to get it on any super sensitive bits? I once blistered the hell out of myself by accident, I couldn't piss for days.
