we've all been ill including H :nope: he started on Thursday - was sick at nursery, then Friday was sick before and in bed :( then woke up to exploded nappy to the extent where we had to bath him when we got up on Saturday.

Thought he was better today, me and dh were up all night being sick and having the runs, H had half his morning bottle, weetabix and some stew for lunch and was fine this aft.

then tonight after he woke up from a nap late afternoon, H had a really wierd rash on the top of his head near his temple and down the side of his face. It was white and looked like what I can only describe as like when you get a nettle sting???? It was raised up and he moved away when I touched it, he was crying a lot too. He calmed down and we thought he was hungry from the crying, so tried to give him something to eat. He was immediately sick and then straight away afterwards he was fine! The rash disappeared too after about 20 mins after he was sick. there was a chunk of pineapple in his sick though which he last had on thursday?????

Got him changed for bed, then he did a bit of a dodgy, runny nappy, then played like it hadn't all happened!

He then had half his bottle (cows milk) with some infant gaviscon in it then he's gone to bed and is fast asleep.

I'm stumped as to if it's just a bug that we've got from him, or if he's alergic to something, possibly the pineapple?

What do you all think?

I couldn't even hazard a guess but it may have been a reaction. I would probably place a call to his doc and ask. I'd nothing at least they'll have the incident on record in case it happens again so your don't have to go explaining yourself all over again.

I hope he's all better now!

call nhs and get advice, probably best he sees a doctor

I'd call Nhs direct if you've been I'll then it could be a bug but best to check!

thanks ladies, He's asleep now so going to see how he is in the morning and decide from there. The rash has scared me though :(

It sounds like a virus to me honey!
especially if you both are poorly too, Dylan gets rashes sometimes when he is poorly!
bt like everyone else has said, deffo call NHS direct of your GP :)

The rash sounds like an allergy rash, and it sounds like he's had a tummy bug too. It get him checked out though just incase x

In the first post you said you're all been ill? If you've all been ill it could be a virus like norovirus from nursery, or a food issue if you all eat the same things. As a doctor, I'd say try and get an appointment tomorrow if you can, but if you can't then PM me, and I can try and help a bit tomorrow evening to get you through until you see someone. (it's hard to do this diagnosis bit without a thousand questions and seeing you)

Hope he has a good night sleep!

No offence but you shouldnt be diagnosing anyone online. Better to stick to NHS 24 who you know are qualified or actually seeing a doctor in person.

He's been a lot better today and has managed to keep all his food down, even though he's not had much. The rash has been there all day, but I remember a friend telling me once that they can sometimes get a rash after having a viral infection?

Glad to hear he is feeling better. Hope you are too!

if the rash is still there then i would get him checked, tbh i think it sounds like an allergy rash, my friends son had the same thing a few weeks ago

thanks for the well wishes ladies, I think he may be starting with eczema as his cheeks are rough. I have eczema so it's pretty much a given that he'll probably get it at some point
