Babies position - how do you know?

I've read in a few post that some of you ladies can tell how the baby is laid and what body parts poke out.
I've been sat here for while and baby is very active - however I cannot for the life of me decide what parts are what?!
I do tend to get 'big' movements right at the top, which I assume must be baby's feet - but I just cat imagine how baby is laying as I do get kicked and punched all over!!!
Any ideas? x

I'm not 100% sure on how to tell. I'm just assuming that my baby is head down, cuz at my 20, 27, & 28 week ultrasounds, that's the way he was. I feel movements up high, and I think it's his feet, then I'll feel like a bump sticking out a little lower, so I'm just assuming that it's him little bum.

I only know because i see his bum sticking out just above my belly button. I find now though that my LO doesnt kick as much and his movements are more rolls and fidgets.

I tend to know which side he is on as that side is hard when i press where as the other feels softer and then i get the feet in my ribs.

I can tell which side he is lying on because my bump is now an odd shape, he is lying to my left; his bum at my belly button. I think he has moved down a bit too as I don't seem to have feet in my ribs as much now. I am hoping this means he is engaging, as at my MW appt last week his head was still free, but he was head down.

i think mine is lying back to back cos my tummy is quite soft most of the time, i get little wriggly feelings in 1 hip and at the same time the same feelings at the top of my bump on the opposite side so imagine its hands and feet. i also get like a grinding feeling at the bottom so maybe thats her head????


sayin all that tho, this is my 3rd and ive never been able to tell which postion baby is in!!

I can usually tell as i have lots kicking going out at the top of my bump where my ribs are and i can feel a little foot as she is a stong kicker lol, and i csn feel her head is down as the head shape when she move is quite distnictive when she moves,

I can always tell where he is because my belly is hard but I didn't know which way up he was until the midwife told me he was head down. Now I know the thumping on my bladder is his fists, and the thing catching on my ribs is his bum.
