It's £5 a lesson and my lo loves music and dance, it's something she can follow through the ages I'm quite keen as it's physical exercise too lo is 13 months and has just started walking

Has anyone been ? Is it worth it ?

honestly i think its a complete waste of time, i watched my SIl be put into it by her mum and she just didnt get it as much as she loves to "dance" to the music at 2 years old there was too much empathis on actually doing a real kind of dance and theres no way she under stood it, after about a year and a half of not getting anywhere her mum took her out and now at 6 years old shes not in tap dancing and loves it.

Makena has done baby ballet I think three groups of lessons (she's too old now). She LOVED it. She had a great time...and made lots of friends. I recommend it!!

I dunno if I would at that age tbh. Amelie does creative dance and loves it. They pretend to be jungle animals, fireworks etc and she has a ball :) its a bit more fun than ballet classes I think.

to be honest i never would have thought to put mikayla in that young..she is three now and does ballet and she loves it..but any earlier and i dont think she would understand..ballet for kids is great to learn discipline as well as exercise.but i was hanging out waiting to put mk in ballet as her physio said it would help her feet but i felt it wouldnt be worth it until now.

Don't get me wrong I'm not expecting her to actually do ballet as we know it at this age she can just about walk the class she would go to would is specifically for babies rather than toddlers who can put their arms into position on command, she has to stop baby sensory lessons as she will be at nusery so wanted to do something fun with her , it's something that as she gets older she can progress up to doing it properly if she wants to

Might go along and see what it's like as there's a trial you can do for £15

Rosie does tap and ballet and she has great fun! its only £2 a week and its more fun with other children than anything else, she loves going.

It would depend what the session was like. If it was more a 'fun' thing where they run aruond and maybe do basic ballet ideas without being strict lesson then I'd go, but I wouldn't if it was serious style lessons. I'd rather send LO to gymboree and do gym later in life in all honesty - I habve hang ups with ballet when older creating eating disorders and bad feet from tight fitting shoes etc

Gingerspice - my feet arent great from doing it and I walked around on tip toes but I was alot older

Mm think I will give it some more thought

Id give the trial a go.

I doubt is is anything like ballett at that age, it might include a tutu and tights but i imagine its just dancing around to music and games. River is going to soccatots next month and i highly doubt it wiol be anything that resembles football

Our local toddler dance classes only start at 2 years old. I'll take LO as they're not too structured, just have fun with the music

if it involves tutu and tights then defo cause she'll just look soooo cute ;)...

sorry not much help here.. i was never into dancing and having a little boy it's not something weve though about.

Yeah thats what Rosie loves tutu, tights, pretty hair and having fun with music and other girls her age :)

boy has dance lessons at his nursery. It's just part of what they do there. it's lovely and he adores it. They are more 'interpretive' dance though and less ballet! I don't know how much he would've got out of it before the age of 2 or so though.

I took Daisy to a class a few months ago and didn't like it, i think she was just too young. she much preferred tumble tots but I'll probably give baby ballet another go early next year :)

Do you mean as in the "Baby Ballet" franchise? If so, it's absolutely fantastic! It's not a proper dance class at all, it's mainly just lots of movement and singing, with the occasional inclusion of what could be the basics of ballet moves later.

We go to um... I think the class is called Tiny Toes, and started when Roo was 18 months old. She went through a phase of just wanting to run around after she'd been a few times, but that only lasted a couple of weeks, and now she loves it. We got her the outfit as an early birthday present, and she gets really excited when she sees her "Baby ballet dress!".

If you look on YouTube, there's a video of something like "Kitty goes to Baby Ballet" and it shows a couple of clips of what they do in class. On Saturday just past, we had a mixture of jumping, waving scarves/throwing and catching them, marching, action songs, ring songs and playing the tambourine. It's brilliant fun, and I think good value for the money. One of the main things that drew me to it was simply that it's on a Saturday for us, and it was really difficult to find baby/toddler classes which meet on a Saturday!

I'd definitely go for the trial, and I hope you and LO like it as much as Roo and I do :)

Im starting my little one in ballet when she is 2 - i started at 2 and danced until i was 25 and nearly went professional - i loved it so much, id really love my daughter to like it as much as i did (obviously if she doesnt thats totally fine!) at 2 yrs old, you dance with your teddy bears etc, so its just a bit of fun and gets them excersise and makes friends, i think its lovely!
