Hi ladies,

Just a quicky - not sure of what I should be getting.

We have got this so far:

https://www.mamasandpapas.com/product-starlite-swing-once-upon-a-time/470516000/type-i/

It is lovely - but do we need a bouncer or rocker or both as well - please let me know what you have got many thanks xxxxxxx

I am planning on getting both. Swings as good when baby wants the motion of being rocked and you want to get on with other things like housework.
Bouncers are great when they are just that little bit older and realise kicking makes the seat bounce.
xx

Weve got both!

We only had a bouncy chair with my son and that was fine so its completey upto you x

My friend told me that swings are good for helping with colic as the swinging motion helps relax them .... I wish i had known this with my son as we would of bought a swing for him too, Anyway weve bought one this time.

Bouncy chairs are deffo enjoyed more when they get old enough to realise that kicking makes the chair bounce as the previous poster said xx

I've got the Fisher-Price Smart Stage 3-in-1 rocker swing..

https://www.mothercare.com/Fisher-P...041&pf_rd_p=231490867&pf_rd_s=related-tab-3-5

heard a lot of really good reviews about it also it's practical for me with space and growing up etc :D

I have the mamroo, will see how that works out, maybe ill get a simple bouncer too!

I've got a swing and a bouncer. Going to use the swing during the day until baby is about 2 months, then start using the bouncer.

It looks sweet, i like the Made with Love one in that range too. You can plug in your MP3 music too can't you. Given i don't the know the sex I'm going for a Chicco Polly Swing...not sure whether to go for the Up version or not and get the tray/remote. I chose this one after EXTENSIVE umming and arring, because it plays nature sounds and a heartbeart sound, and it vibrates like a normal baby chair does.

So this one (more compact) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chicco-04067691340930-Polly-Swing-Birdland/dp/B004MKNOEI

or this one if she's a she and we buy after she's born https://www.amazon.co.uk/Chicco-Polly-Swing-Up-Flower-Power/dp/B004TO308W there is a boy version too though.

I've been given a bouncy chair by a friend, so hopefully one will work for babes!

I've just got this bouncer

https://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Safety/Bouncers-and-Rockers/Precious-Planet-Bouncer(0054696)

I think what you've got is perfect - I personally wouldnt buy anything else, they are all just so similar!x

we have both, tried him in the bouncer and he looked so uncomfy but he loves the swing

so using the swing now and will keep trying the bouncer over the weeks and hopefully he'll grow into it a little :)

We have the fisher price rain forest bouncer, swing and jumparoo. thay all worked at different stages. the bouncer was the least useful. The swing and jumparoo were the best. They entertained him for hours. he sleep for ages in the swing and the jumparoo was just loads of fun.

we've got a brightstarts bouncer and a seperate brightstarts swing xxx

we've got a brightstarts bouncer and a seperate brightstarts swing xxx

Weve got the brightstarts swing too .. Vintage garden one , its lovely i cant wait to see her in it x

We bought the Cosatto lazy daisy Flowery bouncer chair xx

I've just got a rocker, I'm not gonna bother getting a swing as we haven't much storage space in our place unfortunately

One or the other - no point in getting 2 - but one is essential!!

We have the mamas&papas go-go rocker and Anna was in it til around 9 months.

I wouldnt get a swing just because I wouldnt want LO to get too used to the motion and then perhaps rely on the motion to nod off to sleep...

I got the mamas and papas Astro Bouncer in Raspberry colour for £130

https://www.mamasandpapas.com/produ...-magic-card-toys-pack-stripe/s0008080/type-s/

It is excellent, you can buy magic cards for it and each one has different dangly toys in the box and a card with different sounds etc so baby always has something new. It has a vibrate motion and also a vibrate and heart pulse. It also makes noises when baby kicks his feet.

I was looking into these and asked a friend who is a child's physiotherapist and her son is now 3. She said bouncers (ones where they're attached to the ceiling/doorframe) and walkers are a no as far as she's concerned and babies development. It can impinge on their feet and how they walk.
The rocker style chairs look great though.
Just thought I'd leave this feedback in case.

I am a huge swing fan. It has been a lifesaver with all of my nieces and nephews. I haven't really found bouncers to be all that great of an investment only cause putting them in their carrier or propping them up with a pillow and waving a toy in front of them I've found to work just as well.

By bouncers I am assuming we mean a bouncy chair, rather than the door things..:flower:

We got the fisher price newborn to toddler rocker which converts to a chair when older. It's got great reviews so hoping baby likes it. I'm not gonna get a swing as well unless someone gets it as a gift

Bouncy chairs were a life saver for my son who suffered from reflux. The angle was perfect to put him in after a feed and his milk stayed down and settled his stomach.

When we had a swing it was only recommended to only have them in there for 20 mins max. Not sure of the reason but that is what was recommended by the product. This was 9 years ago when swings were massive and took up so much space, maybe the smaller modern versions are different. With my boys the bouncy chairs were better and unusually the cheaper the chair the more they liked it. The ones with a metal frame and fabric, they really bounced. Some of the more expensive ones were quite solid and they never liked them, even though they had all the lights and gadgets. This goes against everything I stand for, normally I always choose the most expensive, thinking its the best :p This time I have chosen the Stokke bounce 'n' Sleep so nothings changed, I will probably have to revert to cheap one from Argos though in the end.
