What size baby clothing have you bought? I've only bought 0-3 at the moment because I'm scared LO will be long, as I was and I have really long legs now lol!! How much newborn stuff should I buy and has anyone not bought newborn at all? X

I did not buy any newborn stuff. Although I was given about 3 newborn outfits. With my little girl I bought about 10 newborn outfits but I knew she was goign to be TINY. I wouldn't waste too much money buying newborn, only a few if your worried. here the newborn are only for 5-8 pounds and babies do grow fast.

from personal experience, I bought several outfits in 0-3. My children were all atleast 21 inches at birth. They weighed 7 lbs 8 oz to 9 lbs. They were all able to wear 0-3 months.Depending on how many times you want to do laundry :-D the minimum I would have is 6-8 onzies, and 5-6 outfits. Remember, the smell of clean laundry seems to sicken newborns. I personally would have atleast 10 onzies and 10 outfits for 0-3 months. Having that many would probably make you do laundry atleast every 2nd day! I do not however bother to buy preemie or Newborn clothes. I feel that they do not last long enough to bother with them :) I just wrote all of that and looked back and saw you were asking about newborn.. HAHA.. oh well, I apologize!

We bought a few newborn..maybe 4 or 5 outfits. The rest were 0-9 months. At our baby welcoming we are going to ask for outfits 9 months or older, just to stock up so we don't have to worry about it later.

I've gotten equal amounts of both, because here NB suits 52cm-56cm depending on brand, and 0-3 months suits 62cm baby, and I've not known of any normal weight babies born that long? 62cm would be huge for a NB!

My son was born at 22 inches (56 cm). Plus newborn clothes in the US look so tiny, I didn't bother buying any.

It's really so hard to tell what you need. My son barely wore even 0-3 month clothes he grew so fast. Yet my friend had a 6 pound, 18 inch baby at the same time who was in 0-3 months for 5 months.

We didn't bother buying any newborn, but layla was only 7lb at birth, and needed them! So we had to dash out and buy some

I think it's so hard to tell what you need until your LO arrives - my cousin was born last December on his due date weighing in at 5 pounds exact. He was still wearing 0-3 when he was 7 months along! Now he's 11 months old and he's as tall as a 13 month old but weighs what a 7 month old does, so he's impossible to dress.

I wish we could peek into our bellies and give the babies questionaires about how much they plan on growing.

One thing I have done is buy lots of gowns - they can fit babies of various lengths and are more forgiving than things with feet/legs.

It's hard to know, but we bought quite a lot of newborn vests etc when we had Joshua... Just aswell cos he was dinky. He started in tiny baby clthes and was in newborn until he was 10 weeks old.

Everyone told us new born was a wste of money but for us it wasn't thankfully.

We hadn't bought any newborn as we were expecting Blake to be big but he was early so we had to get some and people who buy baby clothes as presents never buy newborn either so we have mountains of 0-3 now!!! x

we've got mainly 0-3 months and some newborn x
