Okay... here's the almighty question for those who have recently had their little bundles of joy...

Once you were informed that the baby's head was engaged, how soon after did your labour begin? I was told on Saturday that my cervix was starting to soften and today was informed that baby's head was well engaged. I was also told by several people that I have dropped and I would definitely be early (Due May 16th). So just curious...

Its weeks normally hun! when they engage doesnt mean anything as to when they will arrive annoying as that is to hear! the waiting is a killer huh xxx

I was told on Wednesday 8th that the baby was fully engaged and I was 50% effaced. Consultant told me the baby would almost definitely be within 48 hours, and sent me home with a leaflet about early labour.

Nothing happened, ended up being induced on the following Wednesday due to pre-eclampsia.

Don't know how long it would have taken 'naturally', probably quite a while!

luisa engaged at 29 weeks and was born at 39 plus 3..

i was also induced so more than likely would have been overdue otherwise...
