Silly question but I'm really confused.

Edward has just been prescribed this. It says on the label to give him half a sachet in each feed (he's FF). Each large sachet thingy has two parts to it. So is it half of one of the halves? Or is it one full half?

That makes no sense but it's really hard to explain. I'll draw a picture...

ETA: New question...how long did it take for you to see an improvement in your LO if at all? xx

its hhalf of one...

there is 2 connected in packet - if that makes sence

The picture is correct!

So is it a quarter of the overall? Or half of the over all xx

you put a whole one of the two joined together, into his feed. xx a half of overall :)

lol, it was designed really strangely, i'm sure your not the first to be confused, but yes, its just one of the lil sachets

Hope it works for you hun x

You put one of the 2 halves in the feed, it wud be impossible to half one half into a quarter.

Its one of the stachets to 4 floz of milk, you get two stapled together but its just one. We give Chaise 8 floz so we use both now :)

you've got me thinking now as I got prescribed 1 sachet 3 times a day, I presumed that was half of the two but maybe not? Ohh Im confused now!

No claire i would say you are right it says 30 sachets on the box not 15 x

we got confused too!
your supposed to use both sachets in each feed according to babys weight, we still only use 1 sachet per feed and it works! now she weighs more we should prob use more but it seems to work with onw sachet! and i LOVE the poos we get by using it! nice lil paste style ones, not runny kormas!!!!!!! yahoo!!!!!!!!!

serious improvement after a week, and i get the gaviscon poos! nice little paste like poos which are easy to clean! result! lol

xx

Yeah we got confused to but now we cut them in 2 as soon as we open the box and then use 1 sachet a feed that way. Although i think for his weight we should be using 2 but he hasn't got any worse so don't see the need to up it!

And answering your other question.... We didn't see any improvement while i was breastfeeding but it was within 72 hours of ff that it made a huge difference! He was like a different baby and didnt stop smiling! :happydance:

For those of you who are talking about weight... If you use both satchets it needs to be in an 8 floz bottle, which is annoying if your baby doesn't drink that much in one feed!

Yeah i spoke to my hv about that and she said the way to get around it was to put 8oz of water in a bottle, then the 2 sachets. Mix. and then pour out what you dont need and then add the milk.. does that make sense?!

I've never understood this because if you're breastfeeding, you put 1 or 2 sachets in 15ml of liquid (and you have no way of knowing if LO is drinking 8oz from the breast) - so why would it hurt to put 2 whole sachets in a bottle with less than 8oz???? It's something I've wondered when we express bottles because he only drinks 5oz from an expressed bottle, but because of his weight, the HV/dr put him on two sachets per feed :dohh:

Yes it's 1 of the 2 satchets stuck together. We use 2 in 6 feeds every 24 hours, It goes on eight of baby. Anyway I thought I had to use two sets of teo satchets at first, not very well explained at all x
