Hi Ladies,
After a bit of "what would you do advice".
My husband is going to stay with his sister for the weekend for a birthday party (about 4 hours away). Some of his other siblings will also be there including a sister flying up from USA. Two of our kids had sports commitments this weekend so it was decided that I would stay home with those kids and do the running around thing and my husband would go see his family. I am completely happy with this arrangement. He wanted to take our 8 month old but I said no, I couldn't be away from him for a whole weekend. Anyway, fast forward to the present and I have been sick with the flu all week and I just feel like I can't shake it. Baby is crawling and standing and doesn't stay still for 5 seconds and not a great napper so I haven't had much down time. One child's sports have been cancelled so she is now going with Dad and he was also taking our oldest son who is mentally disabled. After a restless night, I joked with my husband that I would switch him and he could take the baby and I will take our oldest (he sleeps more! Haha!)He said he really wanted to and his family would love to see him. Baby is now on the bottle so that is not an issue. I must admit that the thought of being able to sleep all night and even nap in the day if I want to, is very appealing to me! And to be honest, if I had the opportunity to go away with my BFF's for the weekend and leave baby at home with dad I likely wouldn't give it a second thought, but for him to leave with the baby just seems different for some reason and I'm not sure what to do. I'm not concerned at all about babys care, his dad is fantastic and very hands on and there will be loads of aunties, uncles and doting cousins to keep him occupied.
Is it wrong to send my 8 month old off for the weekend?
