Does anyone else have this problem?
I'm desperately trying to encourage my daughter (11 months) to feed herself. However she will only hold dry/hard food - breadsticks, rice cakes, crackers. (If I spread anything on them she doesn't want to know!)
Anything soft or moist like fruit, veg, sandwiches, pasta etc just gets squashed to bits in her hands then tossed on the floor! It's becoming quite frustrating, I feel like I'll be spoon-feeding her til she's a teenager!!
Also she shows no interest in using a spoon, she just waves it around and pulls a face when the contents get on her hands!! (ironically, for a few weeks around the age on 7 months, she was really, really good at using a spoon - then suddenly stopped!)
Does anyone know how long this stage lasts?
