Just a quick lil story =]
2am Monday (14th) morning I started getting period pains, by 5am they were getting really sore so I went to hospital with my mum.. was sent home by snotty midwife who said "you're only 2cm dilated, labour ward is NOT for you, go home and get a bath" so trundled home, couldn't even stay in the bath as pains were that bad.. was pacing around and around and by 9.30am pain was unbearable so went back to hospital.. was examined straight away and was 9cm dilated.. at 10am I felt the urge to push and waters went (projectile, all up walls, on floor etc lol) .. contractions were every 2mins until 11.45am then slowed down, so put me on a drip .. 25 min later at 12.10pm Laila was born weighing 6lb2.. painful experience but pain was forgotten as soon as I held her! I can honestly say it wasn't as bad as I had expected. I had quite a big graze but didn't need any stitches.
Also, OH had set off to Leeds (2.5 hour journey) at 12am Monday morning.. as soon as he got there he had to turn round and come back, bless him! lol Both my mum and OH were allowed in the room, on the basis that OH stood back and stayed quiet lol midwife was lovely and understood that I needed my mums support but didn't want to leave my OH out =)
