I posted this in first trimester but I figured all the ladies that were 13 weeks who could answer my question are likely cozy over here now! lol

Ladies I need your help... I had my ultrasound and was told baby is 8.3 cm well everything I have read lately has made me feel like I have a rather large baby or they are again wrong on my dates , I am so confused any ladies that are 13 weeks on here have measurements of bubs want to share? I know they told me my son was going to be a large baby(9lbs+) but he was only 6 lb 13 oz. but they told me this right before he was born at 35 weeks ultrasound (clearly too large to measure) the tech never said anything about this bubs being big but she was kind of snotty too.

If anyone can provide some insight it would be greatly appreciated!!

Every chart ive looked at is leaaning more towards 8.0 cm =14 weeks.

Thanks all!!<3

Helloo ,When I Had My Dating Scan I Was 12 Weeks 5 Days And My Bubba Was Only Measuring Just Over 6 cm You Could Always Try Ringing Your Midwife And Asking Her x

Mine was 6cm at 12 weeks scan if I remember correctly - I don't think that rate of growth is an exact science, and if 8cm is ok at 14 wks, then you're only 3mm and a few days off that!! I wouldn't place too much importance on it. Bear in mind that supposedly only 1% of babies actually arrive on their "due date" so the whole thing is basically a guesstimate!
x

maybe ur babys growth rate will slow down a bit too?

My scn was at 13w 2d and baby measured in at 69mm

My 13w6d scan was 7.6cm. I asked my doc isn't it 1 or 2 mm smaller than it should be? He said no, because babies have little spurts of growth and slows down from time to time. Also, there is a +/- 4 days variance.

Don't worry too much, all should be fine :)

Mine at 14 weeks was over 8 and i having a big baby so i am told dates are still right thow, Good luck xx

Can i ask how you know how big your baby is? did they tell you or is it on your scan somewhere? im just thinking i have no idea!! x

EDIT: Sorry, just reread and realise you said 8cm; I read 3cm :dohh:

My LO measured 5.5cm at 12+1. Is it possible you ovulated later than you thought? The books seem to indicate that a 3cm foetus would be around 9 weeks gestation. Apparently before they hit 12 weeks they all grow at pretty much the same rate, so it would be very unlikely that your baby measured so much smaller at 13 weeks. When I was scanned, I was 12+1 and the baby was supposed to measure bigger, so they were about to set my DD back a few days, but I insisted because I know the date we DTD, so it couldn't have been any other gestation. Did you look at your notes? They should give you a print out of the findings, and they would have added your revised DD on there.

6.6cm at 13 weeks exactly x

If you look at your scan sheet it should have a marker on it where a dot os on the line of average CRL (length) You can see how much bigger than average it is. If it is on the scale they won't worry x

I didn't get any measurements at my dating scan. However I wouldn't read too much into it, as I wasn't told anything about my baby's weight/size at the 20 week scan and when I looked it up online the estimates were way out.

My babys femur was measuring for 19 weeks at 22 weeks and everything else was on the small side of normal. They didn't mention my babies short leggies (probably cause they didnt want to worry me). I'm sure everything will balance out fine!
