Baby mozart...

My mum keeps going on at me that i should be playing classical music to bump and just wondered if anyone else has done or is doing? And if the baby mozart CD's are any good? For during pregnancy and for once they are born?

i think playing any music (apart from the really loud, violent stuff with lots of anger and swearing...!) is good for the baby, but then i am a musician! i often find my baby kicks in time with a strong beat when listening to music - it does affect them. classical music is generally suggested (esp. Mozart) because it is very melodious and easy to listen to. some of it is really gentle too, which is why it can be very useful in calming stressed newborns. pop a bit of classic FM on - can't do any harm! x

I have the mozart for babies album, its really good :flower: we bought the classical fm for babies too and that's also a really nice album, we haven't got anything else though as we listen to classical quite a lot ourselves so its always on in the background lol if you don't feel like buying cd's you could switch on classical fm online or on the radio

I read a study that said baby's prefer the strong beat of rock/pop music while in the womb as they can hear the bass but every thing else is muffled so iv been playing my music to my tummy.

It's not just clasical music - it's any music that relaxes you and that you enjoy, be it classical, R&B or rock.
I love rock music and anything else just annoys me so I know it relaxes me, especially the older 70's driving classics lol!

I just don't like the idea of playing anything that is loud and aggressive to her but that just my opinion. Plus i heard that classical music is good for their brain development. Although i guess if your relaxed so is she.

I play gothic rock and my lil princess starts kicking away a storm lolol
