The only thing that I have heard is that if either you or your partner is allergic to nuts or has hayfever...then you shouldnt eat nuts!

But thats all Ive heard...sorry I cant be more help!!

i have heard the nuts thing to but nothing else about allergies xx

This is the first time I have ever heard that baby can be allergic to something while still inside...

As for nuts - if you have a family history of nut allergies pregnant women are not reccomended to have so the chances of a baby develping a nut allergy in LATER life can be reduced.

my MW said to eat nuts as it can reduce the chance of baby having a nut allergy

I wasnt told that babies can be allergic to anything whilst in the womb... have no idea if they can be tho!
I was just told to take it easy on the most common allergies, eg nuts etc - cant remember why - I think it's because they're more likely to become allergic if you eat too many.

Can the baby be allergic while still in the womb?? I never knew??....

Well im not allergic to nuts or mark but i dont like them any way lol Thanks anyway for all your help. XxX

It's asthma too, not heard it having anything to do with hayfever before (?)

As far as I know the baby wont be allergic to anything in the womb itself if thats what he meant?

i was told by my midwife that whether me or my partner were allergic to nuts or not, that i shouldnt eat them anyway incase it developed!!!??
surely this is crap???

No idea its all new to me lol its a good job i dont like them lol. x

Hi there

The Government withdrew advice about not eating nuts in pregnancy last year:

So my son (3yrs old) had really bad acid reflux and at his last doctor appt with the GI specialist I asked him what I could do to avoid acid reflux in our next child. About 50% of the time acid reflux is a by-product of allergies (which sometimes can be avoided by regulating what is eaten during pregnancy). He said that I should avoid Strawberries, Nuts, Wheat, and limit milk intake. Luckly I am lactose intolerant so I dont drink much milk but Wheat is impossible. Everything contains wheat in it.

Yeah this made my pregnancy because I was craving peanut butter but was told I couldn't have it because of my asthma and hayfever.

Unlucky lol well i suppose its only a small price to pay but at the end of the day its all worth it when your holding your healthy little baby:baby:
