What were you doing for your 4-6 month olds?

I'm getting a box together & so far have some large, shiny fabric & bubbles.

Thanks :)

He generally ignores his age appropriate toys and prefers muslins, his brothers socks and bottle lids!

I do need to get an assortment of fabrics as he's a very tactile baby and loves to hold/snuggle blankets

I put a piece of card and some paint in a Ziploc bag and taped it down for him to squash around in there.

Put dried pasta shapes in a small bottle as a shaker (I use the small ones that you take on an airplane).

Some of those sensory balls that light up when you hit them (1.99 on eBay)

A small disco ball in a dark roon

Fill a plastic bottle with water and pour in some glitter! Give it a shake and let him watch the glitter swirl and settle. It's like a little lava lamp lol.

Plastic bottles, fill with rice, or pasta, dried beans, different amounts, glue the lid back on, ds1 loved these :-)

Treasure baskets with different materials and hidden objects in them like smooth wooden curtain rings or pinecones. Closer to six months when he was sitting well with support he loves sitting in his highchaie playing with cooked pasta, jelly, ice cubes, water etc. if you don't want him to put anything in his mouth out them in sealable clear bags. At our sure start centre DS loved a mirrored wind chime thing on a stand, it was perfect height to roll on his side and play with, small maracas. Rain shakers, also those calm bottles that are filled with water, glue and glitter and sometimes small things like Lego men, he loved them and still does. The children's centre also had things like cinnamon sticks and different herbs in small containers with holes for them to smell.

Have you seen the Lamaze sensory toys? Our boys both really love them. The dog and the firefly are their favorites. They pull on the rings, play with the different fabrics, etc. If you want to see them in action, they made our list of favorite baby products! https://www.theydontfeedthemselves.com/newborn-twin-baby-product-must-haves/

We have several Lamaze toys (all bought for us, I think they are extortionate) all of which get shunned for socks!

I like the idea of the glitter bottles, has anyone tried making water/oil bottles?

Fibre optic toys, the silver emergency blanket things, shaky bottles or water and oil, feathers, plastic gloves filled with water

All I do is try to keep choking hazards and inedible items out of his mouth, haha.
