I dont know if there is a thread, but thought it would be nice to share our baby shower stories with pictures It would be lovely to share ideas and experiences with others. Would anybody like to add theirs?

I have mine this weekend so will hopefully share afterwards x

My friends threw a surprise one for me a couple of weeks ago, it was lovely. All my friends and family were there, they bought us masses of gifts for baby, lots of clothes (which wasn't easy for them as we are team yellow). They also did a massive buffet and we played games afterwards. It was a really lovely day and a complete surprise, I had absolutely no idea they were planning it. I know it's not something that is regularly done in England, more of an American thing but we did one for another friend back in February so I think we'll be making it a regular amongst our friends.

I had mine sunday, it was fantastic. There was maybe 45 guests, kinda too many for games, we had 6 games but only played 3 cause it was time consuming and disorganized with so many people lol. We played a game where you take 6 diapers and 6 various chocolate bars. put it together heat it up and guess the poop. lol. We also played guess the baby food. label-less containers of baby food and you guess what kind.

I will say I felt totally overwhelmed by the gift pile. There had to be 50 gifts, it was piled all around us, the gift pile easily took up 8 feet by 6 feet of space in our living room not counting my husband and I. I think it took a hr to open them all up. It was awesome

I don't have many pictures because my picture taker friends haven't emailed me them yet but i'll post a few that i do have... the one pic of my husband was him humoring me playing around with some of our baby stuff rofl

First off... TiffanyF- that cake is AMAZING!!! So beautifully done and looks yummy! hehe...

My shower was so fun and sweet. Just lots of good friends, food, treats and most of all good times Had some family fly into town too which was lovely!!!!! Here are a few pics of the decor... LOVE the candy table for guests treats... very cute. My friend even made a special gluten free cake for some of my guests and a sugar free one for others... both very yummy.

I wish I had more pics but all I have is a few we took before it started. It was so lovely! Very simple and elegant. We had a few games but they were all very low key. We got so many gifts, that photo probably shows about half of them. We had cupcakes from Coldstone which were amazing! It was just perfect!!

WOW some wonderful baby showers, great pics.

Mine was just very casual I had it at my MIL's house, just with some snacks and a few friends. Got loads of gifts and played a few games. Note: I wouldn't advise playing the "Guess whats in the nappy" Its horrid, me and others could not really stomach looking at the mush and snifing it guessing what food it is.

The string around the belly game was fun. Alot of people had loads too much string and were appologising to me whilst measureing it around me belly hehe.

TiffanyF - that cake is GORGEOUS! and I can't believe the amount of presents - I hope you have a big house to put them all away in!

We played the 'ribbon around the belly' game at a shower I went to a few weeks ago, everyone was apologising to the mum-to-be for getting it WAAAAY wrong, lol!

Wow you guys know how to throw a good baby shower.....im in the UK and they are perhaps not as popular over here? Having said that im having one but it will just be at my house - no gifts just friends together, games and food - my sisters are organising it in November (about 4 weeks before im due and while im on at leave) so im sure it will be great x

My amazing sister threw a fabulous one for me about 2 weeks ago and I'm so lucky my MIL is having another next weekend as well! The first shower was so beautiful, my sis had a story-book theme with a pink and green color scheme (like my nursery). The food was all finger-food snacks and a lovely pink punch (one with alcohol, one without ) There was a yummy and pretty candy display all in color-scheme and the fruit salad was in a baby carriage carved from a watermelon! About 20-25 people came (30 or so were invited) and I was completely overwhelmed by the gifts! We got just about everything we need!!
