Just wondering if i should get a baby swing? I am getting a bouncer free off a friend so don't think i would be losing money if i bought a baby swing because i would have had to buy the bouncer anyway (if that makes sense!) just wondering if it would be a waste of money...i know babies are all different but are swings and bouncers going to make much difference to a baby?

I have been advised not to spend £££ on a swing because either LO will love it or hate it usually!
So I have been looking at them on ebay and if I see one in good condition at a reasonable price I will get one, but I certainly won't be spending £70 odd on something she may hate!

i would definatley get one mikayla loved hers and it is different from a bouncer they hate staying in one spot too long so if they go in the bouncer then the swing then a turn on the floor and rotate it it should keep bubs happy

My LO loved hers, bought the mamas and papas starlight one, she slept in it all the time when new born, and helped sooth her when she had colic, worth the money in our house, used alot of batteries tho xx

ruby hated hers at first, but now it is fab. We had a swing and a bean bag. The "please look after me" bean bag was the best buy we had, so light could pick her up in it, could sit her on the kitchen table, dining table and was just fab!

you can see the bean bag in her pic...Would highly recommend x

We have a mamas and papas swing, and Jack really hated it for a first couple of months and used to cry when we put him in it. When he was about 2-4 months he liked it for brief periods of time, and maybe fell asleep in it a few times.

He is now 5 months and nearly to heavy for it (he is 8.6kg and it only goes up to 9kg). So I wouldn't really says its been worth the money for us. But every baby is different and yours might love it.

I am now trying to decide whether to sell it, or keep in for number 2 (but we don't really have anyway to storage mountains of stuff- and I am still not convinced there is going to be another lol)

I have a Swing n' bounce which is both. I never really used it as a bouncer though. Just a swing. Emma went through phases of loving it and hating it. She hasn't used it since about 5 months old though. :D

My baby LOVES his swing! He sleeps in it all the time. For a while he got better sleep in the swing than he did in the bassinet. It has been a lifesaver for us!

We have the Fisher Price Rainforest swing and when Evie was younger, it was an absolute godsend. Now she's 4 months and much more interested with interaction with toys rather than just looking at them, she finds the swing a little boring and gets the ump really quickly in there! We ended up getting an activity table this week to help stimulate her more
As for a bouncer (do you mean a bouncy chair or a door bouncer?) we have a Mama's and Papas Giggle bouncer chair and Evie still uses it now and we cant see that stopping tbh. I put her baby gym in front of it now that she can grab stuff and she loves sitting in it :D
Oh and yes, we have a door bouncer too (Tigger one!) which we were given when I was pregnant.
