I want to take emma swimming soon, but she is still only small despite being 8 weeks (she was 8lb 9oz 2 weeks ago)

To keep her warm I've found bodywarmers (https://www.amazon.co.uk/PINK-Mini-Babywarma-0-6-months/dp/B000OGWZC6/ref=tag_dpp_lp_edpp_ttl_in) or a little wetsuit (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Splash-abo...sr_1_45?ie=UTF8&s=baby&qid=1251112829&sr=1-45). I just wondered what other mums use - I'd prefer the bodywarmer as it will last longer with it being 0-6 months, but not sure whether she would get cold if her arms and legs aren't covered??

Can't wait to take her swimming, she loves her baths so fingers crossed she loves swimming too :happydance:

We have the Baby Snug from here:

https://www.funswimshop.co.uk/splash-about-baby-snug-3-p.asp

Even though Freya's legs aren't covered, she stays warm right down to her toes and we usually stay in the pool for around half an hour.

She is small too, at 8 weeks she was about 8lb something and we bought the Large size (3-6 months) which is big on her but still fits fine and I think will last her a good while.

I think they are a good idea - the first time we took Freya she was just in a costume and was cold after about 5 mins, pointless really. I like the Baby Snug as we are starting swimming lessons and they recommend the Happy Nappy which the Snug has in, so we know we can't go wrong.

Have fun swimming!

Thanks for that! Did the 3-6mnth one fit her when she was 8lbs then? If so I'll buy that size for Emma - I'm guessing she'll be about 9lb 8 now! So do you use the happy nappy, then the snug over the top?

No, the snug has the happy nappy 'built in' to it, so I just use a disposable with the snug over it. Yeah, the 3-6 month size fit her at 8-9lb ish, it looks big on her but fits around the leg cuff bits (which I think is the important bit so nothing leaks out!) and I don't mind it looking big as I know it will fit her a while. I will try and find a pic of her in it.

We've bought Chloe a bodywarmer for our holiday next month she'll only be 5 months but we bought the 6-12 months one so it will be bigger on her but we got a re-useable nappy and she has swimming costumes. The baby pool in most swimming baths is normally warmer then the big pool anyway.
