Baby's heartrate and gender - myth or more often right than not???

Just wondering if any of you know if this is right for you? The old wives tale says 140bpm or less is a boy and higher than that is a girl.

I saw my midwife today and she said that from her experience it is right most of the time but like all things it Isn't foolproof!

Any thoughts?? Xx

well i cant say exact but when i timed mine with the doppler it was 160 and im having a little prince xx

Mine has been wrong both times. My DS 1 was always between 150-160, and DS 2 (on the way) is always between 140-150.

I would have to say HUGE myth!! Infact every old wives tale and gender predictor pointed to a boy for me and nope I am having a little girl!! Good luck!!

It's a myth. I've seen it be wrong more often then it right. According to that theory I should have been a boy and my son a girl

My sister's heart rate was in the 120's and she was a girl, so it was a myth with her. However, my son's heart rate was in the 130s and 140s and my girls' heart rates have all been 150s and above. For my kids, the "myth" has always proven true.

True for both myself and my coworker who is also pregnant. My baby's heartbeat has always been between 150-160 and it's a girl. My coworker also between 160-165 and it's a girl. But, who knows. It could be a coincidence!

I think the higher heartbeats may be more "busy" babies. DS1 was a busybody, and DS2 was really relaxed and easy going.

Hey Hun, my baby's was 178. I believe you posted about ramzi theory too or do I have baby brain? Anyhow, both were wrong for me as just posted a pic of baby's bum and defo a boy lol. My fourth boy!!!! Ah well, at least I have one girl eh?! Just being greedy xxx

Interesting...both of my pregnancies ( both team yellow by the way) the babies have been spot on at 140! They give me no hints!

I think that is true. My son was very very busy (and still is!), and so far DS2 has been very active as well! Makes me a little nervous to be honest! Gonna have my hands full!

My babies have both had higher heart rates and they are both boys!!

I thought for certain I had girls with heart rates as high as they were.
